I had broken ribs a few times, broke my collar bone once, broke my ulna once, and fractured my tibia. It's painful, but once you get it set it's pretty annoying but not so bad.........other than broken ribs, they freaking hurt when you breathe.

Also, I broke my coccyx once.......that sucked.

One. Left foot, "pinky" toe.
Walked down carpeted stairs in loose socks; slipped and slid the whole flight standing upright (sorta like Legolas on the shield). Slammed my foot into a recliner at the bottom of the stairs.

HEARD it snap, and felt instant nausea first. Managed somehow not to puke my guts up all over everything with a lot of gulping... and THEN the pain hit.

Not fun. They couldn't do anything for it and the whole top of my foot went black and blue and swollen.

Second time I broke it was nowhere near as bad.

Result of a head on crash with a car doing 40 mph.

Did it hurt?

YES!
But only until shock set in.... they i just felt cold
Then the hospital drugged me with a large dose of painkillers.
before attempting surgery to fix all the bits (unsuccessful)

You've just guaranteed that you will. Sorry!

I said that on my 25th birthday, and by the end of that month, I'd suffered a Maison-Neuve (spiral) fracture of my left fibula with ligament damage from my knee to my ankle. I was trying to skim-board at Long Beach, WA. It was only my second attempt. I vowed, as I was carried, shrieking, to the hospital, that I'd never try anything that involved relying on a piece of coated styrofoam ever again.

Did it hurt? Well, considering that all I wanted to do was scream...I didn't want to pause even to inhale...yes. Eight weeks in a cast + crutches, eight more in a walking cast + cane.

I just got a stress fracture in my foot just before Nationals while training for them. One day, with a few days left in camp, my foot started to hurt. It wasn't big pain, but annoying and persistent. Never injured me let it go a few days until I was yelling in pain during bouts. Needless to say, I was in a boot for a few weeks and I missed Nationals.

I damaged the cartilage in between my ribs once, playing roller hockey. I was in goal, and a kid had a breakaway. I think he either tripped or I tripped him trying to poke check, and took a skate to the chest. It was discomforting to breath, like there was something wrong but you couldn't tell what.

Finally, while coming around the corner after a flight of stairs at school, something happened to my little arm elbow. I slipped and whirled and slammed it into the doorjam. The doctors didn't know what it should have looked like before (abnormal development and all), so they didn't know exactly what happened. I did get the nauseous feeling and almost passed out, so I think I broke something. Would a growth plate cause that reaction?

A bunch of fingers catching a football. Don't ask me how. Took me a few hours to realize they were broken. My pinky didn't get a splint so it's kinda bent funny.

And then my wrist last winter, snowboarding. Jumped a creek bed not realizing it was a creek bed and hit the other side. Went and found them snow patrol dudes who always cut your passes when you push your friend off the lift, filled out paperwork, went to hospital, x-ray that whole thing, but they couldn't get a good picture so the doc was like wrap it in a tensor and don't go snowboarding so I went, picked up a tensor then went back to mountain (I wasn't about to waste a week long pass). It turned out fine other than it clicks when I move it lots and I can't push as hard with it.

Broken my arm once, sparring a black belt. Yeah I got my arse kicked - I was backing away, then ran out of dojo so I went to throw a kick, not wanting to go down without any fight. She did the same with the opposite leg, so we leg-locked, I went over backwards, fell badly, heard a snap... you can figure the rest. It was great - I couldn't do any school work for months :D

Broken someone else's once too - an arm again. Completely by accident. Fast moving football, hand bent backwards, bone snappage. Not fun. I felt awful. She probably felt a bit worse, but y'know, I feel hugely guilty.

I had just (as in a day or two before) learned to walk when I walked into a chair and broke my leg. The doctor put me in a cast and warned my mother that I might refuse to walk with it on, and might not even crawl, that perhaps I might have to learn all over again once the cast came off. We were in his office as he told her this, and I was sitting on Mom's lap and being fussy. She sat me down on the floor, and I promptly got up and ran out of the room. "On the other hand..." he said...

Mom said my favorite trick was to lie on my back in front of the glass doored china cabinet and tap the heel of the cast against the glass. I never broke the glass, but apparently liked the clicking noise, because she had to stop me doing it quite often.

I don't break.

Had my head slammed into a cinderblock wall, a steel support between school bus windows, a plate glass window, concrete wall. I've punched a locker hard enough to dent it and knock it open, hit metal doors hard enough to leave a row of knuckle spaced dents (both resulted in a neat looking bruise but no breaks), dropped 40-50lb parts on my right foot, dropped a 12 foot ladder on my right foot. Fell 10 feet out of a tree (knocked me out for about an hour), been in more fights than I'd care to mention.

I don't appear to be particularly breakable.

Never broke a major bone - broke my pinky toe more times than I can count, but you can't really do anything for that. I rather wish I had broken my ankle instead of tearing the living shit out of it, the damn thing would probably healed cleaner. I've been told that once you tear ligaments like I did, they never heal right, and I'm living proof of that, over fifteen years out.

I broke my foot when I was four. I was on holiday in India and my grandad and dad were trying to teach me how to ride a bike. They pushed me along then let go to see if Icoul cntinue. I swung my right foot forward. Next thing I know my foot is between some spoks whil the wheel is turning very fast. I heard a loud crack as I was dragged off the seat n hit he ground. I looked at my foot which was covered in blood and at a weird angl. Next thing I remember is waking up lying in a hospital bed with my foot bandaged up. I had crutches but my mum carried me almost everywhere.

Myself, I've so far only done the obligatory pinky toe(s) and the pinky / ring / middle finger (volleyball). Knock on wood, I guess, because I've done a lot of rough-ish sports in my life and the scars all over me still testify taht I was a very wild child.

Nothing too major - surprising since I used to play rugby, but my breaks are:

* Both index fingers and one thumb (at the same time)
* Cracked rib
* Cracked shoulder blade (at the same time as the rib)
* Coccyx (most painful of the bunch)

While they aren't breaks, I did dislocate both big toes - was lucky they weren't torn off. Riding on the back of a friend's bike when I was a kid. Wasn't wearing shoes, toes went into the spokes...

I've started breaking bones as young as infant-age. Look at nearly all my toes. 24 years later, they're still rather funky looking.

Broke my right femur bone while popping a wheelie on my bike at five years old. Somehow, lost balance, leg got caught somewhere in the bike and the most excruciating pain I've ever known felt. Landed in the middle of the street, screaming my head off. Stepdad came out to get me, while my mom was only gone five minutes down the road to the store. She remembers seeing the ambulance going by and saying, "No way..."

And I was there, screaming at the doctors to not cut my jeans cuz my mom had just gotten them for me and saying that she'd kill them if they did it. Eventually, mom told me, "It's ok, they have to do this!"

Then, about five years later, I broke my wrist jumping off some monkey bars and the wrist slamming against a support pole for the bars. I thought I had sprained it and so that night, I went to play some Little League baseball. All was good until I went up to bat. Couldn't swing with both hands, so, smart me decides to bat using one hand.

Strangely, that was the only time I ever made a home run in Little League.

I did get confronted after that though, and finally went to the hospital to get it checked out.

At least I have my home run lol.

As for other people, I've only broken one idiot's nose. Strange that he went about the next day with a huge bandage on his face and saying he kicked my ass. Twerp.

Oh, and I nearly killed my brother with a baseball bat. He still bears the thirty or so stitches on his forehead. Ironically, he went on to play catcher for little league baseball. I thought I was going to jail for murder...

And I was upset I wouldn't get to play with my Legos if it came to that...

First one wasn't actually a broken bone. A dislocated elbow at three thanks to my Dad swinging me over a curb by my arm. The doc said it was a common mishap and to henceforth to allow me to step up on the curb.

Age eight I broke a rib in a bicycle accident.

Age ten a nasty compound fracture of fibia and tibia in a pedestrian/dirt bike disagreement.

Several busted knuckles due to punching things harder than bone. And I wonder why I developed arthritis in my hands so early.

Age nineteen major surgery on both upper and lower jaw. Actually sawn through rather than broken.

More recently, a majorly mangled toe from kicking funiture. In my sleep.

And a broken knee from a car wreck. And I was wearing my seatbelt.

Bitchkitten, how are you still moving?

I've only ever broken my skull and possibly my nose. It's only possibly because I never had it looked at but it's a bit off centre and I can squish it all over my face :p
