I'm excited because I just made my first home cook(non packaged) meal on my own, and it was muy fantastico! I cooked some fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and washed it down with a glass of Kedem grape juice.

So, what was the last thing you cooked and ate?

cooked AND ate? jeez, that's a tough one. probably camp soup, which is basically rice, canned chicken and broth served with a mix of chared wood and ash.

congratulations!

did you make the alfredo sauce from scratch and cook the chicken from raw?

Actually the alfredo sauce was in a jar. ;)

But the chicken was raw, so I had to cook that and all. :)

I usually cook and eat the rice and dahl for dinner. (Dahl = Indian lentils) But for the rice I got a rice cooker.

I can't remember mainly due to having been on vacation in Amsterdam for 10 days and still livin' it in the memory while I sit in front of my computer.

i made chili but i forgot the peppers. it was still good though, and it was the first time i didn't go overboard with the spices so it wasn't excessively hot.

It's actually one of my favorite recipes and I do it vegetarian style. My other favorite right now is our chicken (morningstar) tortilla soup with avocado.

Last thing? Spaghetti sauce from almost scratch (I used a can of tomato puree and seasoned that), sausages and cheesecake.

Most ambitious thing? Roasted goose with scratch-made sage, celery, apple and bread stuffing, giblet gravy with red wine, orange-glazed carrots, and roasted potatoes.

sounds more yummy than what I originally imagined, which is what shepard's pie is here, ground beef, stewed tomatoes, corn, gravy and mashed potatoes. blech. *pukes again*

oh, and I just ate in case anyone was worried about that. I made myself egg salad on rice bread with some carrots and ranch dressing.

Congrats! :fluffle:

Dinner tonight was glazed carrots, wild rice, and steak. I also went to the store after work today and got some prosciutto di Parma and mozzarella di bufala, which I put on crostini with olive oil as an appetizer.
