I would. I mean, I like cats, but I'm allergic, and so anytime I wasn't tending to the cats I'd be really frustrated with my sinuses. And that frustration would make me KILL THINGS!!!

Well... maybe not...

the poll said click all that apply. well NONE of the options it gave apply, so i didn't click any. what would make this world a better place? a reversal of the erosion of diversity that has taken place, only partialy as a resault of improved communication tecnology, but even more as the resault of the dominance of a culture that romantacizes and rewards aggressiveness while demonizing everything that doesn't kiss the ass of doing so, or that of symbolic value ahead of any and all sorts of real value.

how does symbolic value generate real value out of thin air without connectedness to source real value resources and their means of self renewal?

quite simply, it doesn't. that's why i call it circular illogic.

what would make this world a better place? redeploying the sweat that all of us contribute to keeping it screwed up.

perhapse all of us being a little less gullable to idiological intrests which only serve economic intrests which serve no one and nothing, even in any other then symbolic way, themselves.

there are many common and erronious assumptions that add up to an underlying core of values that amount to a kind of collective suicide wish.

what would make this world a better place? little trains, solar power, and stop lying to ourselves.

an economic of potlatching driven by the natural gratification of creativity.

lowering human firtility accross the board without bias or exception would go a long way toward helping too.

making and keeping infrastructure environmentally harmonious and recognizing the real value of both. and keeping governments busy providing for the kind of physical infrastructure comfort zone depends upon harmonious with nature's cycles of renewal and of course, keeping people from freezing, starving, or beating each other over the head, really the two, only legitimate reasons for them to exist at all in the first place, to be able to start gratuitous wars and become repressive.

knocking down (by not continuing to support and subsidise) diseconomies of excessive scale. where each layer is controlled by the more local one, instead of the all too often other way arround, with all of them existing only to serve the most local one, the individual sentient awaireness.

fewer fences and more places where people can walk that are inviting to do so, and where anyone who feels like it can just lay down and go to sleep when they do without being in anyone else's way when they do.

more micro and ultra light public transportation of sorts that don't require or depend on pavement, and more of them more completely free or close to it. or some other arraingement in trade for helping to maintain them, that doesn't have to involve the movement of symbolic value.

also the ability to have a cat be willing to ride on your sholder as ticket to acceptance and access to decision making.

the most honorable and fully catted members of the local council.

little people sized trains would replace the automobile. in most places all, or nearly all pavement (other or wider then sidewalks) would be removed and replaced with parks and gardens. (ambulances and firetrucks would use anti-gravity, and police would individually teleport as needed).

it would be unconstitutional to forbid anyone to possess anything they made or grew themselves, but not to forbid the manufacture, sale, or wholesale importation of anything that served no useful purpose other then to be harmful.

needles to say, no military grade weaponry would be produced at all. anywhere.

certain otherwise utilitarian objects could be pressed into such service, should any REAL need to do so, ever actually arrise.

and computers and something like the internet, only a lot less rube goldberg, would completely replace both televison AND voice telephony.

there would be enough shelters and souplines to go arround that no one would ever have to worry about where they were going to sleep or get something to eat. but plenty of places where people could build FOR THEMSELVES whatever they wanted and the materials and toos to do so with.

of course there would be our much lauded craftufacturing centers and mathom houses to make all this possible. and institutes of impure science to explore ever newer ways and means of doing so.

and of course the institution of pujush, the two year sabatical between lower and upper school, would be considered sacred and honored everywhere.

two years, after the nine years of lower school begining at age three, before the begining of upper school, the equivelant of college and university, during which the individual explores life ON THEIR OWN, and makes up their own minds about what to do with the rest of it.

these are the more tecnical details to their more phylosopical foundations mentioned in my earlier post to this thread.

Puppies can be substituted for kittens, in that case. If you're also allergic to dogs, we give you...hmm, no one's allergic to birds. Maybe you can get a robot kitten or puppy.

H N Fiddlebottoms VIII
23-08-2007, 17:20
More religion, but only so long as this "religion" is entirely composed of Fiddlebottoms Worship.
I also want less government, or (to be grammatically correct), fewer governments. As in, only one government: mine, the Reign of God-King Fiddlebottoms.
All shall gift me with their loyalty and worship, and in return I shall sponsor the development of new recreational drugs with which the population of Earth may ease the ceaseless agony of their miserable existence.

So, in short, the path to a better world is as follows:
1. More Religion (Worship of me)
2. Less Government (Only one)
3. More Drugs (Life is nasty, brutal and short anyway)
4. Everybody must worship me (See choice #1)

That would be...AWESOME!!But it would melt which would make everyone sad and angry and kill each other. In a way it's counterproductive.Maybe if there was a machine that knew the food you wanted when your hungry but can't deccide what you want to eat.

Speaking of food on a serious note though how 'bout feeding poor villigers in Africa.Helping Darfur. Not dumping industrial waste in rivers and oceans, stop idiotic murders because someone's different then you,end gang and mafia crime, kick out corrupt politicians, stop drug trafficers, don't cut down the rainforest for no reason, find cures to diseases like AIDS and cancer.
