Man, linux is ugly! :p

this is my work desktop, it has to be ugly. If it were pretty that would be wrong.

Linux works better than microsuck for most of the work I am doing today, seeing as it's faster and smarter and less locky-uppy.

And for the critics who claim Linux isn't pretty, have a look at this (http://plughole.sdf-eu.org/misc/screenshots/xkcdscreencap.png). E17, with most of the shiny turned off or not visible when that was taken. I can do some pretty stunning things with XFCE as well.

Edit: The included screenshot is aewm for the window manager, aepanel for the panel, root-tail puts the emacs hymn on the desktop background, while the desktop background itself is gray40 with the x logo (as drawn by xlogo) slapped on it (using the gimp). The little app waving at you is xmessage. The GTK theme is (checks) CleanIce-Dark.

At the poster who was wondering about screen size, I'd guess that's a 17" laptop widescreen, lots of those have that resolution.

Mine is like a storage bin things come in there get worked on then leave for the most part

Anything long term gets filed in the correct place and media immediately unless there is something I am doing with it at the time

I am forget full so somethings things hang out for longer then they should but for the most part thats my process
