Yet another NS couple meets in real life [ALL READ]

Now, normally people post in NS General when they meet an NSer in real life, especially if this for romantic purposes. Why exactly, I am unsure, but people do this. So, anyhow, on the 6th of August, 2007, the player of Rejistania arrived in Israel. She left on the 16ths. We had good fun (she stayed at my house, in my room even), and took lots of pictures. And, best of all:

REJIS AGREED TO MARRY ME!!!

Pictures available here (http://www.ostan-collections.net/sike/israel)

I suppose I will have to retaliate by noting that Rejis didn't just 'read a Libertarian book'.

She joined the Free State Project.

Because I can't follow the conversations at all. It seemed like all they talked about was teaching and grading papers.

It is a room in which a lot of different people meet and talk about a lot of topics. Sometimes about grades, sometimes about nerdy stuff, sometimes just fooling around ;> Allanea and I met in a discussion about nerdy stuff. I just installed Skype and needed someone to test it with.

That remark was just humorous in intent. I know a girl at school who always flirts (even with me sometimes) especially with one guy, so I'm not too bad (read: a little better than horrendous) at making such quips. And I wouldn't know, I don't geek out that much because I'm only part nerd.

People meet in this way all the time. I met my wife on a beach. I saw her laying out with one of her friends in a bikini and thought to myself "damn" and went and talked to her. Ended up spending the rest of the afternoon talking with her and we ultimately married 3 years later. Sometimes simple actions can lead to major changes in ones life.

Well I think in these type of situations most people get to know each other via the internet and then decide to meet in person. When they meet in person is when they verify what they know or they find the opposite. Then is when they decide that is the one or not. I highly doubt anyone has truly decided without meeting face to face.

I think we knew each other, as people for a looong time, what with all the IRC chitchat and long phone conversation.

The ten days were just confirmation... and some fun was had by all, as well.

Great! When's the wedding?

I'd join the FSP, but South Carolina needs freedom-lovers a lot more than NH. We just passed an anti-gay marriage amendment with 88% of the vote.

So you two are going to become Americans. Good for you. Contrary to popular belief, we aren't all ignorant, insular conservatives who think that anything pro-weed is Marxist.

Hmm, I'm hopelessly single and happy for them. Does this make me horribly confused or just kind of weird? ;)

Of course, anybody that knows me knows that I'm kind of weird already....
