Take a rest...

I like to have a sauna evening once or twice a week. Because the little hourglass wasn't working I decided to use the alarm on my cellphone.

Never do this. My work called me, I got text messages from someone... my rest was disturbed.

Do you sometimes appreciate to be isolated, on your own or with a friend, so that nobody can reach you? If you do, kill your celphone first, or at least dont place it close to you.

I do tend to need at least a few hours to myself pretty much every day; otherwise I become absolutely sick of everyone, but total cutoff isn't really necessary.

People don't generally call me so I don't generally bother turning my phone off. I do have a habit of, when not at home, taking extended bathroom breaks; sometimes I need to get away from a group of people, a 2x1m cubicle (even house toilets are quite small rooms) can be quite comforting. I go for walks often, or hide in my room.

I have to personally put the cell phone away and will turn off the phone at home. I also hide my wife's cell phone because her friends call her non-stop. It is very intrusive to say the least.

Phones are perhaps the most intrusive form of communication we have. It's like knocking on someone's door and shouting at the same time, forcing them to stop what they're doing and answer. I always have my mobile on silent, but the vibration can be quite disturbing also.

I like the time in between going to bed and falling to sleep, and occasionally the wierd half sleeping half awake time before I get out of bed.

I like the days when I almost don't do anything but sleeping and being half awake/falling asleep. Being lazy > not being lazy.
It's also very enjoyable when you suddenly wake up and think: "shit I'm to late for school/work" but realize it's weekend and you don't have to get up.

I've gone to the trouble of going to an isolated lake by myself with nothing but a tarp, a twelve gauge, a canoe, a little food and some beer all by myself for five days. It was extremely rejuvinating. Most of the people I've told think it's a little bit insane, but to them I say don't knock it until you try it.
I also purchased a hot tub for a remote spot in the backyard, I use it every couple days. Between work and family I need alone time, I get moody without it.

I find that scenario quite appealing, though I'd need to learn/revise a few skills first. I've always wanted to spend a few days alone on a small island or somewhere equally remote.

Sometimes I just want to be left alone and will take measures to ensure I am. I simply ignore my cell phone most of the time....

What else is nice, and I think even better than alone time... is to go somewhere with just your lover and spend the night holding her.

For the last three years I haven't had a cellphone (or a TV), and lived alone. Bliss!
