Straight women and naked men.
It is just about a given that straight men enjoy looking at pictures of naked women. The question is, do straight women enjoy looking at pictures of naked men? I'm not talking about porn here but nude pictures.
Also, have you ever or would you ever go nude in public if you could like on a clothing optional public beach?

I would have expected a poll just for straight women, but since the poll did include straight men and gave them the same options as straight women, but did not give gay people the same options - "how could gay people enjoy the naked bodies of the opposite sex? It's not like the arts are wrought with successful gay painters, photographers and sculptors, or anything" - it does seem like quite the poor poll. In the latter respect, though, I guess you're right that I could not have expected anything else. Doesn't mean the ruler should leave the knuckles unscathed.

And since even non-pornographic nudity has been judged by the puritanically Anglophone-dominated moderation staff to hurt the fragile minds of their children (never mind that the children of cultures such as mine seem to be much more resilient) because the human body is deemed ugly and shameful, there isn't much one can do with this thread.

Yeah, "bow to our puritan, USA-centric view of 'morality' on this international, European-based forum"! And it is always equally illuminating that they can never explain what "PG-13" is - they just "feel" what it is, and damned be anyone who can't "feel" it, basically us that didn't grow up in the same repressed and backwards environment. They also keep changing it and when someone cites cases of what was deemed "PG-13" in films or something like that, they still go "nuhuh, not our PG-13". It's ridiculous.

yes a woman loves to look at her naked male lover. she likes to see him clothed, half clothed, buck naked, naked and aroused.
few women like to see naked male strangers. we dont look at a handsome man on the street and picture him naked. we dont want to see the genitals of men we arent interested in.
i like pictures of buff men in the nude. they dont turn me on but i like that kind of picture. the genitals add nothing special to the picture. included or not included makes no difference to my enjoyment of the pic.

Ok, I guess I'm going to have to pull out my MS in Speech-Communication (which is obviously different than a degree in English)
The only value of any part of language is to move a thought from the mind of one person to the mind of another person. As long as the message received is close to the meaning sent then the purpose has been accomplished. The caveat of this is that "errors" also carry a semantic message. If the receiver sees an "error" as communicating something beyond the actual message then the movement of the message from one mind to another has been partially obscured by the "noise" of the "error".
My lectures cover a semester so I can't go into more detail here.
Now in answer to the question of the thread:
There is a reason that "Playgirl" magazine is a rather obscure publication and that 30% of it's subscribers are gay males. Men and women do process information in different ways. Men's communication tends to be more open and less subtle than women's communication. So men blatantly are open to their sexual drives and women tend to take longer and are more considering in their sexual behavior.

This is where I'd normally nod and smile politely, while daydreaming about fucking Brad Pitt's pretty face ;)
Don't be daft. Brad Pitt's face is ugly. It's only his body that used to be fuckable, and that's emphasis on the past tense.
Seriously.. There has to be better ways of killing time than trying to explain proper grammar on a forum, to a guy who all but stated he'll never get it & never care.
I wasn't explaining it to you, but to Smunkee. So, there has to be better ways of killing time than not knowing how to read threads. :)

Whatever. I think if grammar was important, schools the world over wouldn't go out of the way to hire the most inept twats to teach it. The only people I know (and as far as I know, the only ones I've ever met) who don't wing it, are (ironically) a couple of school teachers.

Just curious.. why would a straight woman not like looking at pictures of naked men?
Women are auditory, men are visual. I read that somewhere, don't know if it's true.
Yeah, from my experience its true... when I talked to significant others during those 'special moments' they always commented on how better it was, really didn't matter what I was saying... could have been singing the magical trevor song for all it mattered.
I like looking at pictures of naked women, the are eye pleasing... I don't like porn though. I think its because I'm not involved...

Interesting that the poll - despite having room for it - doesn't allow gay people to "enjoy" (whatever that means) naked pictures of the opposite sex.
Precisely. Pictures of naked men can be quite beautiful, as can landscape photos. I enjoy looking at both. But I am not turned on by either.
The question is, do straight women enjoy looking at pictures of naked men? I'm not talking about porn here but nude pictures.
It is a sad, sad day when people actually must ask this question.
"Hmm. We know that men (aka human beings) enjoy seeing pictures of attractive potential mates in the nude. But is it possible that women may also be human, and may also enjoy the sight of attractive nudes? Why, it might even be possible that women experience sexual desire and/or sexual pleasure of some kind!! That's just crazy enough to work!!"

Actually, small a sample though it is, the female side shows a pretty even split, whereas male...
Shockingly, it seems there can, in fact, be a difference. *shrug*
P.S. Seriously though, weren't we, like, 25% female at one point?

P.S. Seriously though, weren't we, like, 25% female at one point?
Well, among the heterosexual females who commented about their "no's" it seemed pretty divided between a sense of being "faithful" to a s.o. or not wanting to see genitals. It didn't seem to occur to the women that male nudes could encompass chests, backs, butts and poses which kept the genitals hidden. Because somehow the only cultuarally sexualized part of a male is the few inches between his legs whereas the whole female body is sexualized. Furthermore, among the het guys who explained the "yes's" it seemed to have more to do with "boobs" or "curves." A photographer has to really work an angle and with poses to get the details of female genitals that would just hang out on pretty much any male frontal where the pose wasn't designed to hide the genitals.
So maybe the split wouldn't be so uneven if men and women were addressing the same question. Men seem to be answering more about overall shape. Women seem to be answering about very specific bits.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some boys. But be real...when they are naked? not so pretty...
and as for the naked girls...no opinion really. I tend to not look at naked girls.
Just curious.. why would a straight woman not like looking at pictures of naked men?
I'm not really that into seeing pictures of naked men I don't know. I guess they seem sort of...menacing. If a guy isn't horny, a picture of a naked girl may MAKE him horny because he could imagine having sex with her. But if I'm not horny and I see a picture of a naked man who is noticeably aroused, I am more likely to imagine (and fear) being raped. Maybe that's why.
I like seeing naked pictures of my boyfriend, but I don't sit around and look at pictures of him when I am horny.
EDIT: May I add that a beautiful male body is generally also kind of muscular, which adds to the idea that he could use physical force against me. I wouldn't have a primitive fear reaction to seeing a picture of a naked guy who is flabby or really skinny, but then I probably wouldn't find them attractive either so it wouldn't matter.
