Ghost Stories

Okay, I've never really believed in ghosts before, but there seem to be a lot of people who do, and they have some, let's call them, INTERSTING stories to back up their beliefs.

Now even though I don't believe in them myself, I do love hearing stories about them.

It fascinates me to no end.

So come on guys, give me your best stories, include some videos from youtube if you'd like!

I have a lot of interesting ghost stories. I don't however believe in ghosts. I am 90% sure there is some sort of reasonable explanation for the weird crap that happened to me, and I am 100% sure I haven't found out what it is. *nod*

My wife an I were in the cathedral in Segovia, Spain. In one area we felt a bit of a chill and heard what sounded like Monks canting. There were no services going on, but I thought the canting might be coming from a chapel close to us. I walked over and opened the door to the chapel and it was empty. Not one person in there and no canting.

We found out later that during the Spanish Civil War, several Monks had been killed in the area where we felt the chill and heard the canting.

Yes, I believe in ghosts. We had one in this house for several years, but she is gone now.

You must have missed the thread a few weeks back on ghost stories. If someone has a link please provide it. I am to lazy to look back through the pages to find it. Anyway there were some interesting stories in that thread.

I tend to an "agnostic" viewpoint on ghosts: the fact is, I just don't know. I don't believe in them, nor do I dismiss their existence as pure fiction. I put them within the possibilities, within the empty space human science has not yet extented onto, just like the creation of the universe, the correct interpretations of quantum mechanics, the fusion power plant, interstellar travel, etc. and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they existed, yet I think if they exist, they belong into a much larger context than simply "souls of the dead come back to haunt the living".

Perhaps there will come a time when ghosts will be just as accepted as a ''reasonalbe explanation'' as the laws of physics know today are accepted today. One can just say science will disproove the existence of ghosts, but it's just as possible that they will simply become a widely accepted phenomenon that is a part of all the other scientific explanations found yet. Then, we'll turn to other "mystic" stuff until we either disproove it or understand it, when it will cease to be mystical.
As for "true" ghost stories, there are few I know and none of them happened to me personally, but I'll dig in my memory for some rather unusual stuff that happened to me - not necessarily ghosts, but hard to explain nonetheless. Expect my next post.

Sure, i've got a few.
It takes so long to post them, though, i usually have to log in a second time.
Perhaps this'll serve as a bump until i retrieve them from the archives.
Or ... i can type up a few that i haven't posted yet.

This is not a ghost story per se, however, this is interesting nonetheless.

According to some Australians, one of Auckland's train sets is haunted. The SX Set that the Auckland Regional Council leased in 2003 and bought this year, has had the following note attached to it by the Australians

"SX 50 set apparently haunted, auditory phenomena, passenger chatter, keys rattling in empty coaches with no explanation and no apparent external source"

Personally, I don't believe in haunted things. Certainly I took that train for four months and never came across a ghost at all; I did get about a thousand head injuries though because of poor suspension.

I don't believe in ghosts the way I believe you are referring to them, but I do believe that we don't entirely depart this earth. The ancestors are as much a part of our existence as the unborn, to us.

A couple of years after my brother died I heard the stereo in the garage he used to live in turn on, and so I went in to see who had turned it on, but when I got back there no one was in there and there was no sign of break-in; all the windows and doors were locked. I turned it off.

A week or so later the same thing happened, but this time the stereo was on the floor on its side.

I can't help but believe he's in there fiddling around with it, because he loved music and was an aspiring rapper and that stereo meant a lot to him, so it makes sense for him to go back to where he used to live and do that. Why, I have yet to figure out.

Perhaps rapping is his unfinished business.

Well you see, this one time I was taking a dump, and when I turned to look at my accomplishment.... there was nothing in the toilet!

So come on guys, give me your best stories, include some videos from youtube if you'd like!

As much as I'd love to, I don't want to risk being banned.
