bananas, apples, mangoes, potato chips, whole wheat bread, peanut butter, dark chocolate, rubbing alcohol, pull-up tissue, soap, raspberry flavored candy, morning cereal, canned milk, cookies, pasta.

But by no means I am restricted to them only. I go through every aisle in the supermarket and pick out things I might like to eat... or use.

From the grocery store I get mostly veggies and fresh fruit, dairy products and pork, from the butcher I get my beef, from the Korean market I get my noodles and flour, and I mail order most of my other food.

Most everything I eat is made from scratch (or darn near from scratch), other than animal cookies, and on occasion chocolate.

tofu, veggies (usually a bell pepper, couple of jalepeno peppers, a zuccuni, sometimes lettuce, onions, garlic (if I'm out of the last two), sometimes random veggies that are on sale), some tomatos, usually avocados, some sort of fruit (usually I go with something that's cheap and/or on sale, the latter especially if I haven't tried it before) sometimes bread, if I've run out of pasta, I'll buy some of that, tomato paste, dried beans (lentils and the like...), occasionally frozen juice (if it's on sale), sometimes salsa and tortilla chips (the later especially if I've bought some avocados so I can have some guacamole) and sometimes I'll impulse buy a chocolate bar at the checkout and sometimes I'll buy random pop from the aisle that has random bottles of pop.

I don't buy all of these items every time I go and occasionally (but not very often) I'll buy milk or soy drink and some cereal. Next year I might start buying cheese again too, since I'll have some more money.

Last trip was plums-my favorite- some red seedless grapes, a couple of Gala apples(I like them because they're sweet) some 2% milk (trying to keep that cholestorol down, but hate skim) Tea, Coke (I'm a Coke addict) Some baklava at the bakery. Unlike Smunkee, nothing is from scratch at my house. My cats are more domestic than I am. Oh, and cat food.

FROZEN juice? Wtf? Why would you FREEZE juice?

I buy frozen juice concentrate because I only go shopping once a month and it's easier to have fresh juice when I want it that way.

I also cook all my meat one day a month and freeze it, and bake all my cakes, cookies, and breads one day a month and freeze them........and I freeze my grapes, but they just taste better that way.

I have 2 freezers full of food and never very much in my fridge, just beverages and leftovers.

But it'd take ages to defrost. When I want a drink, I want one then and there, not have to wait an hour or whatever for it to be drinkable. Also I don't think frozen juice in available in the UK (or most of it).

it comes in a can, you plop the frozen juice into a pitcher, and then you add 3 cans of water and mix it up.......fresh juice! (and by fresh I mean not rotten.....not really fresh LOL)

Shopping what? List? We don' need no stenkin' list!

Seriously, I very, very rarely make a list - last time I did so was in January, and then it was only because I had to remember a couple of specific brand requests for my mother. Mom's picky about her yoghurt...

But usually i buy(if food)

Pasta
Soup
Bread
Milk
Egg
Chicken
Beef
Peanut butter
Jelly
Coffee
Creamer
Green Tea
Sodie
Juice
Lunch meat
----------------
Misc stuff
Dish soap
Laundry soap
toiletries
Vacuum filter(not bag)
Paper towels
cheap game (if available)

The last shopping list I made said:

Margarine
Bread
Beer
Loo roll
Kitchen towel
Bin bags (which I ended up scabbing from work)
Ice lollies
Fruit (got satsumas)
Pizza? (in the end, I decided against it)

I don't make shopping lists that often because I live near enough to shops I grab stuff on my way home most days, so only need a few things. I do make lists of just about everything else, because I am so forgetful. Every day I end up with long lists of orders from work scribbled over my hands.

At the moment I'm collecting/shopping for things in preparation for moving out of my parents house and to a new city, so it's mostly cheap store brands and loads of household goods.

Last time I went shopping it was for the following:

2x 2 litre Irn Bru,
Chicken breasts,
Brown Sugar,
Chillis,
Cheese,
Mince,
Beer,
White wine,
Brown sauce,
Mustard,
Bread,
Milk,
Toilet roll,
Deoderant,
Razor blades,
Tomatoes,
Pasta shells.

Though, for the most part, I shop fairly randomly and eclectically. I never make a list.

Hoe my God! You take time to make a spreadsheet? Soccer mom alert!:p

it makes things easier. I just put how much of what I want and print it out, it's organized by section of the grocery store, so I don't forget anything. I have a copy of it on my Palm so I can add things as I think of them and then sync with the computer and have a full and complete list.

I have about 30 spreadsheets and if I lost even one of them my whole world would stop.......I think.

I need to make a spreadsheet to organize my spreadsheets.

noodles, meat, vegies, my powdered chocklet, those are the things i stock and consume the most and have to replenish the most often.

the kinds of things i LIKE to shop for, are at hardware, computer, and model train stores, and even the latter, mostly scratch building supplies. (like plasti-struct and zap-a-gap)

every once i a while a pair of pants or a shoe gets a hole worn in it and has to be replaced. these i deeply resent not being able to spend the cost of on train and computer stuff

lets see, i also buy used paperbacks of speculative fiction, but that's not on any sort of regular basis so not really a shopping LIST sort of item.

oh there are other things we buy occasionally because my wife likes them.
she likes coffee for one thing, which i don't dislike, but could live just as happily with or without. and of course there's my shaving supplies. because i'm kind of half-way alergic to my own hair.

fortunately most of these things, other then groceries, last long enough to not have to be replaced too often.

Now I have NOTHING on my shopping list! I bought a couch today! Yay! It is soft and squishy and covered with a fabric that looks like it is an old, soft bomber jacket and has two built in recliners. It is not leather (which I find uncomfortable to sit on in the summer) but rather a microfiber fabric that looks and feels like leather but without the stickiness. Now, unfortunately, I have to wait until the 28th for them to deliver it. Boo.

Does anyone here ever buy off-brand products? You know, like Sam's cola or great value vegetables? I have found that Kroger brand items are usually very good quality and notably cheaper than big name brand products. Especially those huge bags of cereal you can get for the same price as a little box of television-endorsed crispy crunch or whatever.
