Blasts in Christchurch

Police are investigating four small explosions in Christchurch city today, including one that injured a cleaner at the Christchurch Bus Exchange.

The explosion forced the evacuation of hundreds of people from the exchange about 3.15pm, causing commuter chaos in the city.

The incidents involved small bottles exploding at the Bus Exchange, The CD Store on the corner of Colombo and Cashel streets, the Shell Service Station at Carlton Mill corner, with the fourth near a Westpac bank at The Palms Shopping Mall.

"All items were in plastic drink bottles and the one at the Bus Exchange was left in a bag on a seat," Mr Reid said.

While we can be thankful that it was only an injury that was sustained, this does beg the question - what if it had been a more powerful explosive? Could people have died? Is this an attempt at terrorism?

What do you guys think?

Smells like teen wankers to me. Christchurch has a few problems with trubled yoofs.
No-one in NZ (police, govt, media) seem to be calling it terrorism - I've read a few sources and not seen the word mentioned, even to deny the possibility.

Lmao, dry ice in a coke bottle, terrorism? Seriously, no.
I'm just astounded this seemed to receive more media attention than the earthquake in Peru.

This is clearly an example of the terrorists 'taking the fight to our homes' because of the clearly liberal NZ Labor government opposing Dubya's glorious crusade in Iraq.

Damn you Kiwis! You're always pissing off the wrong people!

Seriously, the fact that think the authorities don't this was terrorism-related, and said so, shows the difference between your country and mine. Here in the States, Bush would use said explosion to push for another troop surge, and Guiliani would be using it as proof that he should be the next President.
