That's the opposite of the Mope-fu I employed as a teenager. Intimidate potential adversaries with the implacable calm that comes from knowing that however bad things are, they can always get worse, but that's still not as bad as it's going to get afterwards, so who cares what these assholes think they can do to you.

It's amazing where people's imaginations go when they ask themselves why the skinny little white boy in the taking the #5 train through the Bronx doesn't seem to be afraid of getting mugged. Especially when they wonder why he's keeping his hands in the pocket of that long shabby coat.
