Most annoying song to have stuck in your head.

I started a new show last week called Aliens In America. Everytime it's time to get those dailies my head goes:

Aliens in America

Whoao

Aliens In America

Whoao

Everybody listen to the music go round.

Friday night and everyone's groovin

I can feel the heat but it's soothing

Now in the car thread someone mentioned Tigre and Bunny and I'm wishing for that We're the Kids In America to come back because as bad as that was, it's nothing compared to:

We like teh cars, the cars that go boom

We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.

Help.

What's the worst song to have playing on your brain?

I like Led Zeppelin but that drum solo is annoying.

Personally I don't watch South Park, but one of my room mates do. One of their more obscene songs which basically asks the other person to shut up (I'm not going to mention the song title for fear of offensive language  ) has an annoying tendency to get stuck in my head.

Most often it's when I've had to deal with an incredibly annoying customer. Next thing I know, bosses are asking what that boppy tune I'm humming is...

I shall keep that in mind ... :)

Song is... Shut your Fucking Face Uncle Fucker. It doesn't really have many lyrics to it, but it does have a revolving tune and lyrics I can relate to at the time. Therefore annoying customer = blushing for most of the day.

If any song gets stuck in my head, it is bound to be annoying... but there may be degrees of annoying-ness that I may need to look into.

I hate I Am The Walrus because of lines like "Crab-a-locker fish wife, pornographic priestess" that are unforgettable because of their nonsensicality.

Also Missy Elliott's Get Ur Freak On (if that's the correct spelling of it) hurts my ears whenever I hear it.

It really bugs me when my favourite songs get stuck in my head, mainly because I'm often fighting the compulsion to start singing them in the most ridiculous of situations. =D

the "Gin and Juice" cover by The Gourds
That's the Gourds?
I was labouring under the impression it was by Ween, mainly cause I d/l'd and it was labelled as such.
Personally I like it, mainly cause I can't stand the original.

Speaking of Ween, "Push the little Daisies" (specifically the chorus) has to rate as one of the most annoying songs to get stuck in one's head.

I forget the name of the song, but I heard it on YTMND...

"I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!
I'm a party gii-iirl, I'm a party girl!"

When I have my kids stay with me I often get kids TV themes stuck in my head, especially the one to Lazy Town for some reason

Ah.
I do that too, but perhaps there's more intellectual satisfaction for me when i do it.
There might be if i heard you doing it, come to think of it ...

Anywho, two other good ones off that are M'kay and I Can Change.
Actually, I'm Super is good, and What Would Brian Boitano Do?
... are you talking about the remix of Uncle Fucker? That i can understand. I really didn't like that one.
Also, Simultaneous is pretty funny.

A South Park stuck-in-da-head song ... Come Sail Away, by Cartman.

Blue from Eiffel 65.
Barbie Girl from Aqua.
Fly Away from Lennie Kravitz.
Freebird and Tuesday's Gone from Skynyrd.

I know another that i like but could be EXTREMELY irritating - Whoever You Are (I Want to Thank You) from Geggy Tah.
Oh yeah, sing that one at work.

All I wanna do is to thank you
even though I don't know who you are
You let me change lanes
while I was driving in my car. . .

Whoever you are
I wanna thank you who...

Now all I wanna do is to exit
So I go to where I can get off
On a curve, through the shoulder
There's no parking in that trough
So I drive around all day
Coming atmospheric haze
Till I wanna get on again
Then, all I have to say is

All I wanna do is to thank you
Even though I don't know who you are
You let me change lanes
While I was driving in my car. . .

Whoever you are
I wanna thank you who...

All I wanna do is to tune in
Radio L.A. Lujah
'Cause we're broadcasting live
And we wanna hear all of ya
On the mic is Geggy Tah
But a whole lot more of all of ya
Let us hear ya, let us hear ya
In a big echoing holla

All I wanna do is to thank you

Even though I don't know who you are

You let me change lanes

While I was driving in my car

Whoever you are
I wanna thank you who...

Ohhh one for my fellow Brits then.

You know that shampoo ad, the one with Girls Aloud in it? You know the one, with the raven haired beauty walking down the road, when the Girls pull up in the limo, and grab her, and get her all dressed up, and then rush her into the studio to sing 'that' song?

Well thats it, it's been really bad, I have been walking around the home singing it in the same off key style as the ad at the top of my voice 'Girls are back in town, do do do do dododo' ahhh my poor kids!

I find that if I only know one verse or the chorus of one song it's the most annoying to have stuck in my head. Even if it's generally a good song, the fact that it's just one verse that's repeating itself over and over and over and over is just awful.

Just a small town girl....
Livin' in a lonely world!
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere....

Just a city boy....
Born and raised in South Detroit!
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere....

Don't stop believing!
Hold on to the feeling!
Streetlights, people!
Don't stop believing!
Hold on,
Streetlights, people!

God damn you, Journey.
