Sorry to see legends like this go.
Who do you think is playing today that we'll feel this way about in 60 or more years?

Rizzuto did more than play though. He was involved in the Yankees organization (first as a player, then as a broadcaster), for 59 years (1937-1996, although he missed approximately 3 years during WW2, when he served in the Navy). He was a 4 time all-star, an AL MVP, winner of the 1951 Babe Ruth award, on 7 World Series winning teams, and one of the most recognizable color commentators in baseball. In fact, I can still remember listening to him while watching Yankees games in the 70's and 80's (back on channel 11, before my parents had a TV with a digital tuner).
As to who's playing today that people will feel this way about, I'd probably have to say someone like Roger Clemens.

I'll have to crank up Meat Loaf tonight. Paradise wouldn't be the same without Phil.

Of course- I agree ! Long list of accomplishments from a man that was always a gentleman.
I'd say he's part of the Yankee's heart & soul. He was their voice for a while too.
I think Derek Jeter will someday be a Yankee legend. Aside from his talent-he's a good role model, gentleman and all around nice guy.
