I know we have some Pagans here on the forums, some are Wicca, other follow the Greek/Roman/Norse Pantheons, etc. So for the Pagans of NSG, tell me about your religion, how did you decide that this was the right one for you, and tell me some about your rituals, how you pray to the Gods/Goddess, holidays etc. I created this thread because I do like learning about different religion because it just interest me very much of what people believe. :)

I got introduced to it 9 months ago by a very good friend of mine. I had always sort of believed this, even though I was/ still am being raised a christian. I was baptized, did communion etc. Because I'm so young, my parents control a lot
of what I do. Which means I can't worship, as in rituals. But I'm still learning, from that very good friend:p

Perhaps you should define what you mean by 'magic'. Christians effectively believe in the 'magic' of Jesus i.e. miracles.

From wikipedia (I know, lol):
As practised by British Traditional initiates, Wicca is a variety of witchcraft founded on religious and magical concepts, and most of its adherents identify as witches. As such it is distinguished not only by its religious beliefs, but by its initiatory system, organisational structure, secrecy, and practice of magic.[5] British Traditional Wiccans generally will not proselytise, and may even deny membership to some individuals, since once initiated a person is considered to be a priest or priestess and is expected to develop the skills and responsibility that that entails.[5]

And by magic I mean:
Magic and sorcery are the influencing of events, objects, people and physical phenomena by mystical, paranormal or supernatural means. The terms can also refer to the practices employed by a person to wield this influence, and to beliefs that explain various events and phenomena in such terms.

Well, I'm a follower of Asatru, though still in my infancy learning the faith. I became a follower of Asatru because Christianity always seemed like a foriegn religion to me. It originated out of the middle east, and after its initial adoption around the mediterranean was spread by the sword to the rest of Europe, or was adopted so people could survive economically. Asatru was the religion of many of my ancestors, and once I learned about it just...well felt right to me.

To honor the gods rituals called blots or performed, where food and drink are offered to the gods. These are usually held at solstices, Yule, and sometimes on remembrance days.

Hopefully this is a little helpful.

These sites may shed more light on Asatru:

I've made some moves towards Hellenic paganism, albeit gradually.

I am an extremely ecletic pagan. My primary deities are Athena (Minterva when my friend Athena is around) and Diana, with Ganesha our household god and Eris and the FSM sort of ancilary. There's not a whole hell of a lot of formal worship, though we did regular non denominational Circles with a friend before she moved. I light candles and inscense to them, and sometimes buy sweets, fruit or flowers to give them.

I'm pretty informal when it comes to religion, though.
