Where is everyone? With a vast area of the US being in an extreme heat wave and other parts of the country, being hit with thunderstorms I figured everyone would be hunkered down on NSG. Oh, was I wrong as it is so quiet here you can hear a pin drop.

But!!! I forgot!! It is August and Europe is on their month long vacation. That’s right Americans you are being screwed. Many in Europe get a month vacation while you get a mere week or two.

But where is Canada tonight? Where is the Land of Oz? Is everyone out basking in the heat or are we all in shock? Shock? Yes.

It was so hot in New York yesterday that Pelosi and Clinton showed up at a fundraiser in tank tops.:eek:

By the way, which came first European football or American football? I think that would determine which one is "real football."

The guy from Midas recommended it. I was also recommended a pub an earlier time that is on Yellowhead (IIRC) that sucked too (it was a British style pub). I'm starting to think that I should stop listening to the recommendations of Edmontonians.

While we were waiting for the Midas boys to do their work, I did go to West Edmonton Mall (the last time I was there, I was 1). It was pretty neat. I was in awe of the roller coaster and would have gone on it if I didn't eat at that stupid Zodiac place. It would have been better if I liked shopping, or had something similar to a Future Shop, but it was a ok way to waste 5 hours.

EDIT: Don't diss Timmy HoHo food. It is yummy, I think.

Ugh, I ate at Hooters once, and it was terrible. Worse ribs I ever had, and the fake tits of the serving wench simply did not make up for it. You should try Tasty Tom's, Garage Burger, or even Red Robbins if you want good burgers. Earle's also has good burgers.

But were are Tasty Tom's or Garage Burger? On my long, painful drive into BC next week (!!!), we'll probably have breakfast in Edmonton.

I guess a better question is, who serves good pancakes? My dad would probably appreciate good eggs, but pancakes are the only thing I like from most people's breakfast menus (ie it does not have an egg in it).

Anyone mention Australian football here? No protective equipment is required, the game moves faster than soccer or American football and, until the administrators decided to sanitise the game, things like the hip-and-shoulder, high marking and the "love tap" (getting shirt-fronted) were all part of the game. Also, we don't dance like turkeys when we score a goal or run across a white line for a "touchdown".
