Most college professor campaign donations go to the Dems.
"College professors have already donated $7 million to presidential campaigns. This puts them ahead of contributors from the oil and drug industries."
Notre Dame is totally not into it though:

Well yeah, that can probably apply to the small percentage that have donated to the Republicans.
Since when has anybody listened to their college professor?
I don't know about you but if a college professor gave me money, I'd listen to what s/he had to say.

They probably want to be "politically correct" by making reparations for slavery. Or they're giving money to him because of some grandiose sense of "affirmative action" -- he's black, so he must be placed ahead of better-qualified whites.

How come? What makes you think a Professor in Molecular Chemistry, Quantum Physics, Ancient History or Women's Studies understands what's going on in politics any better than anyone else?
God knows I've seen my fair share of dimwitted professors.
I would think there are only a few disciplines in which you'd see professors make reasonable decisions, and they're things like macroeconomics, international relations, political science and maybe some areas of law. And that's simply because they know the terms and principles involved, not because they're inherently smarter people.

And people still say the colleges are not biased in educating the youth of America.

And you know that the oil and drug industries can just whip out their checkbook and triple that of the college professors on a whim.
Aside from that, what does this have to do with anything, really? If more people believe in A than B, that doesn't necessarily make A true and B false... In this case, Obama good and Hillary bad.
(I feel that way, but still...)

or they have fallen for the notion that people like themselves make the best candidates.
they are supporting one of their own, arent they?
i bet all the oil executives voted bush/cheney.

Yep, I'll bet you are right but who will they vote for in the next election? I doubt it will be Clinton or Obama.

No. Tell me that it's not true.
(Actually, 90% of college professors are the biggest wastes of space imaginable. I have no problem with people living off the public dole, but for god's sake, at least be humble about it and don't be a pig at the trough. Still, I expect that college as we know it will become a thing of the past within the next twenty years or so, so it's not all bad).

hmmmm maybe one of the VP candidates will come from the oil world. i hate to think that the oilmen should have to vote on something other than their own base interests just like the rest of us.

Most (meaning those who teach subjects outside of engineering and the sciences) professors are people who work in a university because they lack the ability to produce the results demanded in the real world. This is especially true with business and liberal arts.
At least professors who deal with science and engineering do real work on the side. One of my professors freshman year was working with Boeing on the 787.

That would be the 10%. Medical guys and the good fine arts ones are okay too.
