Skinny People Are Ugly. What do you think?

Darknovae

Well? Define skinny. Does every skinny person have an eating disorder? Does everyone on NSG think that? Does every skinny person *appear* to have an eating disorder? Is skinny attractive, despite a completely retarded media telling us so?

Hey, that hurts my feelings. I'm going to go eat a whole tub of ice cream!

There's a line between attractive skinny and ugly skinny. Attractive skinny has room for muscle, ugly skinny is just skin and bones, and whatever eyeballs are made out of.

I agree, but I do get annoyed at the people who try to imply, "If you even consider looks at all when it comes to dating/whatever, you are a terrible, terrible person. You sick bastard."

Not that it's common, but I've come across people who seem to think that.

Clearly, very thin people are just as ugly as very fat people. On the whole I don't really care as long as they are not in the extremes.

I really despise the pro-anorexia groups that promote it like some kind of healthy lifestyle. Its just damaging and harmful to the people involved. Thin is good, but telling people to make themselves not eat or be sick after eating is just awful.

My opinion? Anorexic is both unhealthy and ugly. Starving yourself as just plain stupid. But not every thin person is anorexic. Some of them just have fast metabolisms. In my youth, I was about 20 pounds underweight, and I guarantee I didn't have an "eating disorder" unless you call scarfing down food like a human buzzsaw a disorder. Too bad I didn't keep that metabolism into my older age. :(

What turns me off are obese women (such jiggling. Such horrible, horrible jiggling. :( The jiggling scares me) and women that are so skinny, they looked like they just survived the Holocaust in a concentration camp. I want a woman that isn't afraid to eat a burger. I also want a woman that won't eat the whole freak'n cow in one meal.

Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. Alcohol makes ugly women look hot and hot women look even hotter. Sometimes, there's something extra in the beer that makes women look different. Sometimes, the mystery ingredient makes them look like little furry foxies. :p I like foxies. So cute and cuddly, like a teddy bear with rabies.

Define "skinny." Anorexic people are ugly yes, but that's just kind of the far extreme end of skinny. My friend is skinny (through no fault of her own, she's constantly trying to keep her weight up, but she just burns energy really fast I guess), but she's quite pretty.

I felt that my body was ugly when I was overly skinny and I had no definition to my muscles. Now that I am older and have a little gut (which I am whittling away at) but good definition from exercise, I feel better about my body. I dunno what to do about my face though. :p

I certainly am not physically attracted to anyone who is too skinny or too fat but I am lenient with a wide range of body types. It's really a persons insides that count though. A potential partner must have a functioning heart and lungs.

Okay... "Define 'skinny'"... "Beauty's on the inside..." "Beauty is subjective..." Etc... But personally I think:

An unhealthily skinny person isn't attractive. Unhealthy isn't attractive, full-stop. Everyone probably knows where I stand on the "skinny debate", but as a young and admittedly "curvy" woman (who once suffered from a serious eating disorder), I am morally against the current media's apparent obsession with near-skeletal figures.

I don't think it's fair to call anyone "ugly", but, I do admit that I find "skinny" figures on men very unappealling. Rib bones aren't exactly my idea of sexy. I also find "skinny" women unattractive. Sexy women have hips, tits and ass.

I think thin people are attractive. But the way I understand the word "skinny", that is to say "only skin on the bones", then yeah, I agree skinny is unattractive.

Just like I can find some people with a slight amount of fat attractive, but morbidly obese people turn me off.

I guess I find healthy looking people attractive, no matter that their natural state is thin or a bit heavyset. If you're a bit fleshy naturally, or if you stay thin despite eating to your heart's content, it's all good. If you drink 20 liters of soft drinks a day or make yourself puke after every salad in fear the dressing might make you fat, then you likely won't be attractive to me.

But yeah, usually more partial to thin people, being thin myself, but like I said I've found quite a few chubby persons to be quite the lookers.

how about skinny women with nice T&A?

It depends how skinny. If some is really skinny where you can see thier bones, then yes it's unattractive. But if someones morbidly obese, then it's also unattractive. A nice healthy figure is attractive. You can be heathly on the heavy side and be attrative, or you can be healthy ib the kinny side and be attractive.

I think I'm skinny on the healthy side, and thats not bad.

Actually, aren't supermodels usually normal? Runway models are super skinny.
The "supermodels", ie: Elle, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss...aren't "normal". They are still thinner than the average women is today, and thinner than the average woman was when the supermodel phenomenon began. That being said, the most famous runway models (Gemma Ward, Adriana Lima, Jessica Stam, Chanel Iman and more) are skinnier than the "supermodels". That doesn't make Kate Moss "normal"!

Both fat and extremely skinny people are unattractive.

However, the skinny ones take a lot less space and are a lot less noticeable, which makes them total win.

I remember when Twiggy first hit the scene. All but those who followed "high Fashion" were totally turned off by her. Who wants a woman with nothing to fill out a dress? In later years she gained weight and became more attractive. Unfortunately, that also cost her the career in "high fashion". She did do some acting later.

I really don't know anyone that thinks "high fashion" designs are important or appealing. Of course, I'm a country boy and only real women appeal to me. No plastic skin or personality.

Right. What I wonder, though: Isn't that picture supposed to be telling us "Look at the anorexic barely human-shaped woman on the left, and then try to understand that part of her eating disorder is that she'll see herself as overweight, i.e. like what we see in the mirror reflexion"?
Well, if so, then I have to admit that I don't consider what I see in the mirror reflexion to be "overweight". I mean, it's not in the lower part of the normal-weight scale, but do people really think this is overweight? That'd be interesting to know, especially in the light of the Fat=Ugly? thread.

Yeah that's lame. The whole idea of blanket attraction for any "type" is silly to me. I'm not a manslut, but "my type" isn't this-and-this-and-this, it's mainly any girl I'm attracted to and interested in pursuing.
