Favourite TV Show?

With political turmoil throughout the world, the plight of millions of citizens in the undeveloped world and the threat of enviormental chaos beating down upon humanity, there is but one question....

What's your favourite TV show?

I'm a House man, it's the only deccent thing on Channel Five, but I'm not so fond of "Shark", because I think they just thought, "Hey, House is successful, lets make a Lawyer one!"

That said, Studio Sixty on the Sunset Strip is awesome, and I think Matthew Perry is being as un-Chandler as he possibly can.

What about you?

My fave day for TV was last night. All on BBC2 Rick Stein, then Mock the Week, and then Hyperdrive.

Frasier
Seinfeld

They've both finished but they still stack up compared to a lot of new shows (which often get pulled early on).

I also enjoy a spot of House when I am visiting my parents (They adore the show).

My favourite for currently-running shows would be the BBC's Robin Hood, and I really like Stargate Atlantis, too (Although I am very displeased with the removal of my two favourite characters, so we will see how much I enjoy next season...).

Reaching back to the classics, Fraggle Rock was very high on the list, as well as the various Star Treks (Except Enterprise, and so-so on DS9), and Scrubs.

Documentary-type ones like Be The Creature and The Naked Archaeologist are also snazzy.

i haven't watched tv in ages, but when i do it's simpsons, scrubs, friends or some comedy panel/quiz show like QI or Mock the Weak or HIGNFY. i only watch dramas if someone else is. used to watch House and CSI and i enjoyed them but i'm just not that interested without the social aspect.

I've found Seinfeld hard to laugh at ever since the whole racist controversy with Kramer. Thing is, he probably isn't even really a racist, which makes it all the sadder.

I tend to love anything with a modicum of political satire.

That's it for new stuff. I have been watching a full archive of Gargoyles though.

MASH, for a long time now. I'm really getting into MST3K now, it's really funny (and original). Scrubs is the best thing on TV right now.

Grey's Anatomy is my current guilty pleasure. I really don't watch much of anything else, only in passing I watch Smallville with hubby and Heroes was big last season for me, and you know I miss my Gilmore Girls, but it really was time to end it when Amy Sherman-Palladino left, the last season with new writers was uber-suck.

battlestar galactica

daily show & colber report

i like numbers even though its not a great show. but everyone in it is smart so that goes a long way with me.

im going to give "life" a try this fall. and torchwood is coming to bbc america so ill take a look at that too.

studio 60 started out amazingly good but ive never seen a show deteriorate so quickly into sucky nighttime soap opera. i hope matthew perry finds a new spot on tv. who knew he could act?

It is easy to see why it was cancelled... it is so very, very good that it could not survive. Sad how that is the way things so often go.

There are very few shows I bother to watch, even old standbys like The Simpsons and Family Guy aren't usually worth my time. If I actually have the spare time, I'd rather throw in a DVD...no commericals.

That said, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Homicide: Life on the Street are my two all time favorites.

In some sort of possible order:

Doctor Who/Torchwood (old and new Dr Who)
Firefly
Red Dwarf
Babylon 5/Crusade
Heroes
Stargate/Atlantis
The Vicar of Dibly
The Brittas Empire

Obligatory mention: A few seasons from most of the Star Trek set (mainly DS9/Voyager)

Sci-Fi geek... where? (and far too many RIP shows in that list)
