Turns out Austin isn't the only place where people shoot one another execution style.

Now I'm not saying that New Jersey is a shitty place to live....

but...

Four people were shot in the back of the head in Newark, New Jersey, leaving three dead.

NEWARK, N.J. - In a city where gun violence has become an all too common part of daily life, these shootings were enough to chill even the most hardened residents: Four young friends shot execution-style in a schoolyard just days before they were to head to college.

Three were killed after being forced to kneel against a wall and then shot in the head at close range Saturday night, police said. A girl was found slumped near some bleachers 30 feet away, a gunshot wound to the head but still alive.

The four Newark residents were to attend Delaware State University this fall. No arrests had been made by Monday and authorities had not identified suspects.

Rest of the story here. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20145099/)

I'm honestly quite surprised this story hasn't popped up sooner. Does a mass shooting have to top Virginia Tech now?

Apparently the victems were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, but then again, it's Newark.

But execution style? The last time I've heard of that was 16 years ago in the Yogurt Shop Massacre. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yogurt_Shop_Murders)

This disgusts me as an American and a human being.

Newark, NJ is a particularly fucked up place to live.

They wonder why big chain department stores won't invest and move in, and why if you want to shop, you have to drive to the next town....

...this is why.

Hell...a few years ago someone was crucified down the road from me for joyriding*. Shootings seem almost good in comparison.

It's not legal to carry a gun in NJ. Especially in Newark.

Then again, if you're willing to violate the law on murder, and risk the penalty of life in prison, who cares if you violate the law on possession and carry?

Where, in my post, did I say anything about the legality or illegality of carrying a gun in Newark?

Methinks you quoted the wrong poster, because it doesn't seem to be an answer to my observation that "Newark is a shitty place to live" and "Newark can't attract department stores or large supermarkets because of the high crime rate".

Methinks it wouldn't be so shitty, if the people there weren't shitty.

I'm making the point that it's the shitty people, not the guns, that are the problem.

Quit while you're ahead. :)

Incidentally, if the victims were in possession of firearms themselves, this tragedy never would have occured; they were butchered for want of an adequate means of self-defense. I think the saddest aspect of this sordid tale is that this catastrophe could have been averted had we remained faithful to the wise words of the Founding Fathers and allowed those poor, innocent children to protect themselves.

Yes - there's hick central and Newark, and don't forget those places like Jersey City, where the local girls spend their time at the clay pits, drinking methanol.

On the other hand, the are around Edison in Central Jersey is great, especially if you're brown.
