Secular constitution? Not according to Texas.

Students must remember 'God' in Texas pledge.

This, as Fark rightly asserts, is asinine!

And not just the 'God' part, either!

"In 2003, the Legislature required all schools to pledge allegiance to the U.S. and Texas flags and observe a moment of silence every morning at the beginning of classes."

What purpose does this serve, apart from wasting valuable time that could be used to teach?

Is this the same in all States of the US, or just grotesquely Republican ones like Texas?

If it is the same, do most yanks agree with it or think it a waste of time?
