I swear that's what my login box in the top right corner of my screen says right now. I would take a screen shot, but I don't know how. I would put my hand on a stack of bibles right not and swear it, and I'm a rather devout Christian, I'm looking a just that, right now, and I'm totally confused.

Did jolt just experiance some peuedo Y2k, or totally, has this ever happened before, and how did it get 1970?! The internet didn't exist, and, moreover, I just registed a few days ago.

See, it doesn't actually have a last visited time for you, as this is likely your first visit. That 1970 thing is some kind of base value.

There are timewarps though...

O, ok, I do have another nation though, guess I just never noticed the 1970 thing though, but I have experianced time warps. And yes, that does make sense, the server would have no files on me right now, and, I guess they thougt '70 was a good year...

00:00, January 1st, 1970 is the Unix Epoch. It's basicly the beginning of time for all Unix based computers.

So if that happened to be someone's birthday (to the second) they would be essentially the nerdiest geek in all of *nixity. They could probably expect oral sex from Linus Torvalds, just for asking.

Oh, another thing. Because you didn't set a birthday, yours is shown as November 30.

No penguiny snuffling fun for you, haha.

In 1970, Unix was pretty fat, and she was pregnant with the internet. It was called arpanet then, and though I was just a little kid, wide-eyed at all the flashing lights at my dad's university, I seem to recall seeing it actually working about then.

Like I say, I was just a kid. I was probably watching a postgrad using ping. Impressed the hell out of me anyway. :)

Cool! A Time Traveller!

What's it like in 1970? Have they stumbled across the 8-track yet?

Heh heh. The Jolt server must have displayed its epoch time by mistake. That's the primeval time when the computer crawled out of the mist.
