Sickening, but that is what I have been informed through a phone call from my father, who heard of this from a radio station. Apparently this nutcase is still on the rampage, so if you are planning to visit Oakland, stay out of there for the time being. Even if this matter turns out to blown out of proportion, it is better to be safe than sorry, right?

UPDATE: I am told by another that there is one confirmed death, a journalist. It appears that this is not a rampage, but a homicide committed by someone in a ninja costume whose identity police are still trying to discover.

UPDATE 2: OK, this link confirms the above. (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-oakland3aug03,0,7724030.story?coll=la-home-local) It says the killer was wearing dark clothes, but does not specify it as that of a ninja. Anyway, it seems this was indeed a contract killing.

I have no clue. I am told he does have a gun, and is managing to the elude the Oakland PD. Again, I cannot vouch for any of this until a news article with more details is found. It is too early, I guess.

Out of curiosity I looked at a few news sites and the only thing that came up about oakland was a newspaper editor being "whacked". Ninjas were not mentioned, nor did it have a ninja "feel" to it.
