For almost 35 years, Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update segment has been entertaining us with satirical news and special segments. It was a mainstay of the show in the 70s, sucked through the early-mid 80s, and had a resurgence with Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon.

What are some of your favorite moments or recurring sketches within Weekend Update?

My favorite single moment has to be John Belushi's St. Patrick's Day rant about the luck of the Irish.

For a recurring bit on Weekend Update, I have to go with Point/Counter-Point. I go to the floor every time I hear Dan Aykroyd say "Jane you ignorant slut."

Friday night live was much funnier.

ANY John Belushi rant is hilarious. I LOVE to watch him start out perfectly mild and calm and slowly build up, little by little, until finally he's screaming incoherently and unintelligibly at the top of his lungs, and then he convulses and keels over behind the desk. LMAO just thinking about it.
