It's not as though I try to hear that song. It seems to follow me, wherever I go. I can't stand it, but I seem to hear it everywhere.
Also, this comic made me think of it whenever I saw the verb "pousser" in French, which was every day on the bus when I lived in France.

Warning: It hurts the brain, visually and aurally but the damn chorus is annoyingly catchy
To soothe your brain after the horror, this was another, an oldie that I hadn't seen before but really really catchy bass line and a fantastic video:

Neil Young, Southern Man.
Dear Neil, you godless heathen*
If you're going to insult 1/3rd of the nation with one fell swoop of ignorance, can you at least have the good sense to enunciate! To get told off by, of all people, Lynyrd Skynyrd in a song that became about 1000x times more famous than your pathetic, whiny ode of unalloyed mediocrity is an embarrassment!
Please Rot in Eternal Restlessness....

*I'm not meaning to insult any godless heathens, mind you. I beg your pardon if you find yourself godless and also find the life of a heathen to suit your needs. I just don't wish Neil any warmth and sincerity...

You Really Got Me by Van Halen
Every time I'm at Best Buy, there is someone playing it on Guitar Hero 2.That, actually, is a pretty good reason to be annoyed by it.
I've been recording people playing it wrong so it has the "tinks" and such in all the stronger phrases of a few of the songs on there. Not that one, though.
Why? Because it's fun to play on my radio show, when people were expecting the original song. :p

Fraggle Rock is certainly one of my favourite television shows of all time, if not in first place. I have a ton of the songs from it on my computer at home, and a link to a nifty online 'rockbox' with other songs (I am at work now, though, so I lack these vital resources).
The chorus of the theme song is:
'Dance your cares away;
Worry's for another day!
Let the music play
Down at Fraggle Rock!'
As far as catchy wonderful childhood television theme songs go, I have to claim the one from The Littlest Hobo as my favourite. "Every stop I make, I make a new friend, can't stay for long, just turn around, and I'm gone again"
Chide as you must, but you must *also* admit The Tokens made a pretty penny with "Wimoweh".
:p
We sang Amazing Grace to the tune of The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Guys doing the 'wimoweh' and gals doing the lyrics) at my old Church! Such fun memories...
As for the song currently stuck in my head, I would have to go with What's Going On from the movie Salaam Namaste. If I am walking down the street and see a red Smartcar, I cannot help but burst out singing and dancing to the song.

I Am The Walrus by the Beatles. That is probably my least favorite Beatles song; I don't know how it became as popular as it did.
Also I don't like Only A Northern Song or Tomorrow Never Knows.
Speaking of Beatles songs, I don't like the annoyingly loud orchestral crescendos of A Day In The Life; they are simply TOO LOUD. But I do like the rest of the song. The Anthology 2 version is better IMO because it has only the second crescendo, and instead of the first one it has someone counting in to Paul's part of the song.
But back to songs i HATE: There's this country song with a line about "two pina coladas" in it somewhere, and fortunately I haven't heard it enough to remember the rest of the lyrics. I HATE that song.
That one and Trisha Yearwood's She's In Love With The Boy. ARRGGGH! :headbang:
Edit: Just thought of another one: the theme song from The Brady Bunch. (Here's the story, of a lovely lady, who was...ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!)
