It seems that the jolt time warps like to come and go...

I found a rather strange one today. In fact, I noticed it just minutes ago in one of the newer threads here on NSG.

Look at the image and tell me it doesn't strike you as odd that the OP's post has the time of 1:15pm on it, while a response of mine seems to have been not only moved to the top but some how posted back in time at 1:14pm.

The forum software that jolt uses sorts orders posts chronologically. In the case of every time warp, the reply was submitted earlier in time than the original post. The cause? There is probably a clock somewhere that is out of sink.

But hopefully not out of tub... :P

Jolt can be accessed through different servers. When their clocks are out of sync, this happens.

That timewarp has totally fucked up my whole thread haha... I feel a headache coming when I look for replies there.

the timewarps used to be kinda fun. now they're just kinda irritating...

No, it's about believing very, very hard! If we all believe in the non existence of the warps, they will go away. So I need everyone to believe real hard now! There's always one fucker who doesn't believe!

That's how it always is with time warps, it's what causes them. the posts are sorted by time, and the clocks are messed up.

I am getting rather tired of it ... the solution is simple install ntpdate and whamo good to go

Yes, the time warps do make it difficult for the average lurker to enjoy a good thread or seven.
