This summer I've had a three week vacation, and I've visited Washington DC (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01554.jpg), Baltimore (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01665.jpg), Philadelphia (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01691.jpg), New York (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01779.jpg), Las Vegas (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01880.jpg), Los Angeles (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01943.jpg), Pismo Beach (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC01992.jpg) and San Fransisco (http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Gravlen/Trip%20to%20the%20US/DSC02021.jpg). It was a nice journey which also included a wedding and meeting two real-life Generalites :D Wohoo! :fluffle:

Three weeks, and I'd like a couple more...

So how's your summer been? Have you gotten to get away or do anything fun?

Tell us about the good times :)

I'm leaving with my family to Michigan on August 2 for a cousin's wedding and we'll get back on the 7th. School starts again on the 20th. Earlier this summer I finished four of my summer assignments (I have one left that's nearly 3/4 finished), did scriptfrenzy (wrote a screenplay of over 20,000 words with my brother), got my driver's license, and applied for a job at several different places (but haven't been contacted by any of them yet).

I got a job this summer (not so fun). But in the in between time and whenever I get time off (thank god I have flexible hours) I've been pingponging back and forth between LA and San Diego, seeing as many friends as I could.

Awesome guys, good lookin girls (Who also tend to be awesome). It's been a pretty good summer.

And I started writing again.

we actually did go on a short vacation in May, we went on a road trip, left Friday night returned Sunday afternoon, had fun, visited all the tourist traps, rolling down old Route 66.......

in June we did nothing but run errands

in July we had some picnics and stuff

we aren't doing much in August only I am going to summer camp as a counselor and the kids and my husband are staying home and getting into trouble.

I've been working for almost a month now, after that I'll have another 2 months to relax (ok, maybe except august, then I have some exams, but I'll still have September) I don't know if I'm going to make a journey, but I'm certainly going to go to some festivals and party a lot, maybe go camping. It depends on the weather (which hasn't been nice recently :/)

Seriously though, I am one jealous mofo. My parents, uncle and auntie, cousins and respective girlfriends and boyfriends skedaddled off to Italy without me last month. I was, understandably, pissed off.

I feel for you guys, it certainly isn't as good a summer as years past.

However, I take the line that if you get down about the weather, you'll quickly get too depressed to live in Scotland. :p

If you're ever going to 'Vegas,
Never stay at the PINK FLAMINGO hotel and casino.

It's old, run-down, boring compared to the other casinos, the staff is lacking in friendliness and they'll try to swindle you from the moment you arrive.

Summer has been an unmitigated disaster;

Spent approximately £500 arranging an interrail around Europe for four weeks, only to lose my passport on the first day, and return to blighty feeling rather sheepish.

Met, and seemed to actually have something of a genuine relationship with, the only girl I've felt close to for a couple of years, only to have that, by no fault of my own, go tits up.

Other family related crises I shouldn't elaborate on any further.

Bored out of little mind waiting to leave for university in October.

Better than being stuck in a small village populated by chavs and old biddies for 12 weeks. Why is it that other people live in nice villages with drama groups, small cricket teams and the like, and all I get is a football team and a profusion of rude, uninteresting chavs?

I think I should take a walk, maybe go down to the library or something. But my parents wouldn't allow it (they're not home), and I'm not sure my brother would. I live in a suburb, so we don't have people like chavs. Town's dead this time of year. Everybody's either at Cape Cod or somewhere else on vacation, so the only people in town are either old, have no children, or young children. Or just don't want to go on vacation.

I haven't done much this summer. I got out of school in France in June and came back to Michigan. Since then I've been working 5-7 days a week for just over minimum wage. Yay. However, I'm starting a new job on Monday that pays more than double and my girlfriend is coming up from Iowa next month for a week.

Currently, we plan on visiting Tahquamenon Falls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahquamenon_Falls), Ann Arbor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Arbor) and maybe the Pictured Rocks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pictured_Rocks).

I work hardest in the summer, but I've had time for some fun. I have played renegade football a few times with friends and those games are always full of fun and mischief. I spent a week with my nephews that is always full of fun and mischief(including a playing in mud story that I'm itching to tell when I get a chance). My oldest son has discovered the wonders of squirrel chasing. :) He is also beginning to read, which at his age is quite impressive. He is also quite taken with tools and will dismantle anything he's left alone with for more than 30 seconds. :p

The twins are healthy and spend a considerable amount of time plotting against me in their own language and arranging to stagger their pooping so as to maximize parental inconvenience. ;)

I went to the county fair on Monday, took a few pix, and ate lots of Greek food!

.. then mommy showed me something... so random.. and out of place.. I give you-----Vraj (http://www.vraj.org/)! I never knew it existed, in the farm lands... of Pennsylvania...
