Given that your average Astronaut has less to do during take off than me driving to the shops, I'm not so worried. Still bad, though.
... I wonder... what are the effects of Alcohol on the human body in zero-G?
I can see them being drunk during takeoff because doesn't it relax the body and thus ease the strain of the G-Forces?
and while the astronaut may not do much... last thing I wanna hear is that the shuttle exploded again... and the last transmission was "Yeeeeehaaaa... let's do a barrel roll!"

That settles it. Next time there's a space shuttle launch, I'm turning it into a drinking game.
That settles it. Next time there's a space shuttle launch, I'm turning it into a drinking game.
When the countdown starts take a shot.
As the number decreases by one, increase number of shots by one.
When the rockets ignite. begin chugging. Stop only when the cameras turn away from the rocket/shuttle. resume when the camera go back to the rocket/shuttle.
when the boosters disengage, pause chugging to take one shot per booster.
take a shot for every mention of the word "exciting" or varients there of. "excitement" "excited"
Take two shots every mention of the word Mission.
Take one shot for every mention of the word Control
Take one shot for evey mention of the word Roger
Take one shot for every mention of any delays that occured
After the launch. check into the hospital for your alcohol poisoning...
