What in your opinion is the funniest thing you've ever seen in a video game?

I honestly laughed out loud at Yume Miru Kusuri when the main character made a hilarious comment about Japanese cafeterias and the Battle of Stalingrad. ;)

It was more funny due to WTFness, but in Shadow of Destiny (PS2) the point is to keep the character from dying over and over (time-loop style). At one point, you prevent the first death (or maybe second), the main character is calmly walking away when a flower pot falls on his head from out of nowhere.

Same game, after preventing another death, the main character is about to light up a cigarette, he puts the smoke in his mouth, stops, and says something to the effect of "Now would be a good time to quit."

I've had too many to name one at the the top, alot of them had to do with my friends on Halo 2. The damn train on that one level left some memories. The one that strikes me is when I was driving the 'hog, on one flag CTF, and we were on offence, and I tried to go for the jump, misguessed it, and landed on the the tracks stuck. Everyone was crusin', and yellin', and the moment that the train showed up on the other side of the tracks felt like a forever (I probibly looked like :eek:). *sign* didn't get to drive again for a long time.

I Have Fury!

If you finish Aero Fighters 2 with Steve and the Ninja, Steve will rip off all of his clothing and come on to the Ninja, who will kill him.

I found this out when me and a co-worker had free play on it and decided to see if they even had endings (you have to go through the game twice).

I don't know if 'hysterical' can really describe killing a gay guy, but it certainly threw us for a loop. I can only imagine that the lack of any outrage or mention is that so very few people have bothered to get far enough to see that ending.

In Dark Forces, you get to play a Rebel mercenary in a 1st person shooter. I open a door and see -- two stormtroopers and an alien all facing the opposite wall.

I toss a grenade in the room, back out and BOOM! then turn to a male friend and ask, "Why the hell were all three of them facing the wall?"

He cracked up and told me, "Check it out, it's a men's room."

Sure enough, I go back in and -- yah. Urinals.

If you go around taking pictures of random places in Metal Gear Solid you can catch 'ghosts.' One is in the bathroom in the Psycho Mantis area, and he is doing the "superman is here to save the day" pose in front of the urinal.

Alright, I was playing Mechwarrior 3, and for the mission, I had to raid a clan base. After about an hour, I was on the verge of winning and all I had to do was to leave by getting onto an elevator. I tried to walk in, but the game glitched and part of my mech got stuck in the door and it exploded...so I had to replay the mission.

The entire Arsenal Gear sequence in Metal Gear Solid 2, where the Colonel AI gets infected by a virus and keeps spouting gibberish.

"I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hari-Kari rock. I need scissors! 61!"

"I am not home right now. Please leave a message after the beep. BEEP!"

"Turn off the game console right now!"

Actually, it went from funny to annoying after having to listen for several minutes while waiting for a cutscene.

I am aboiut to pull the trigger and i get hit with the warthog. For some sreason the guy driving was humming the dukes of hazard theme song. So later in the game I'm riding shotgun and I get the driver in the face with a plasma grenade, and bail, just as the gunner got shot my friend. my firend gets hit by the warthog, then it exploded killing me.

reminds me of Duke Nuke'm. When you click on a toilet there's splashing noise and contented, "ahhhhh" followed by a flush.
Also when you click on the Duke Nuke'm pinball machine, he says, "I got no time to play with myself".

That is pretty funny. a better one is the one from the last main story mission in Vice city.

I did lots of stuff like that when I was first playing Mafia...that very first car chase is one of the hardest in the game because you have such a sucky vehicle. I kept flipping myself into the river.

In the video game, 'Blasto', where the main character Blasto had the late Phil Hartman's voice. Blasto sees a scantily clad woman dancing in a cage and says, "No I've seen two wonders of suspension; The Golden Gate Bridge and that bra!"

Turning the gravity down and Slow-motion corpses on in UT usually yields humourous results.

Discworld I and II - Two games of pure genius.

But for one gaming moment... I'd have to say opening the escape pod in Lego Starwars (Think it was the second one, but could have been the first) and finding two storm troopers in a jacuzzi in there.

There are so many from the original Half-life, the opening sequence especially, all the scientists are just hilarious.

Evil genius is a very funny game. And The Sims always provided good moments.

In Fahreinheit aka Indigo Prophecy when I was looking for clues at the murder scene which happened to be a males bathroom. I was the guy cop, Tyler, and went over to the urinals. I press the action button and he starts having a piss. That was funny then my partner ( woman interrupts):

Woman Cop: "Tyler what are you doing?! This is a crimescene!"

Tyler: Yeah and its also a guys restroom.

It made me laugh.

The AI in Guild Wars: Factions does this alot. Members of the other Faction raid the town when it changes factions, occasionally one of the old guards starts running around a pillar with 5 new guards from the other faction chasing him. Then it goes on and on and on....

At one point, your party goes into the tavern and you meet your Female Elven Mage's mother. who immediately yells at her daughter for running away. she turns to you to plead to you to tell her that she's helping you to save the kingdom.

if you select the choice that basically says "no she's not"... you're treated to a scene where the mother then spanks, yes... SPANKS... over the knees type spanks... her daughter in the tavern. then you get the same two choices again.

so basically, you can have long hours of watching a female elf getting spanked by her mother... :p

Mutual death. if you and the last boss die at the same time. you are treated to a scene where the Queen gives her ending speech to... ABSOLUTELY NO ONE! and her speech is entirely in Japanese.

OH and here is one self-inflicted one.

using the Cheat system, activate
"Monsters will not hit/damage you"
then sleep.
if you get attacked the monsters will continue to attack and you continue to sleep. (you won't wake up until you take damage...which won't happen due to the cheat.)

The "Suicide" custom map for Warcraft II was hilarious. They start with around 100 trolls, grunts, ogres, and the like. You start with a peasant. In the center of their army.

The game "Armed and Dangerous" was full of good moments. It had this one (clear SW ripoff) where these 2 mercs stuffed this old blind man up a rhinocerous' rear, supposedly to keep him warm. GTA Vice City's radio stations were petty god damned funny.

Also Okami as a whole was just so heart warming with good bits of comedy. No single moment is the funniest.

I remember being on a map in TeamFortress, where I sat beneath a pipe that came out over my head. It had a grate that you could hear open.

The pipe led to a central area filled with water. People trying to sneak in to your side to capture the flag would come out of the pipe.

But first, they had to open the grate.

I used to cook a grenade (hold it for two seconds, then release) before I threw it up into the grate (EMP grenades were usually the best, since people sneaking over had full packs). Their gibs would fly out of the pipe and in the chat, you could see people typing, "FUCK! GET HIM!"

Of course, they would try to come back in the same way (instead of trying something else) and I would do it again.

The other funny Team Fortress one was putting a sentry gun on top of the lockers in the locker room of the prison map. People would come out of a grate in the locker room floor, and the sentry gun would give them a lead shampoo - then before the grate would close, I would throw an EMP grenade down the hole to blow up their friends.

I think the funniest Video game moment that I can remember was when I played GTA 3. The cops in that game are so hilarious, whever they were chasing you in a car they would appear out of nowhere ramming you at 100+ miles per hour and this would keep going forever untill you got out of the car or died.

Another moment was that I was at a lake had four stars and I saw the police on the other side of the lake. Instead of going around the lake to get me they went into the lake to get me only to die. So I was just standing there hearing the police go "HEY" and then they would run in and die and they would also drive in their cars and die as well

The most hillarious moment though in that game was using the horn on any of the cars. The horn was usefull because when you actually used it while on the road, cars would actually move out of your way. However when you were on a bridge and you used the horn the cars would pull off the bridge and fall into the water.

Also GTA 3, jumping stuff in vehicles you arn't supposed to jump stuff in. I hijacked a firetruck and took it to the jump in front of the river outside the safe house where you clear the elevated crosswalk. I think I took out two people on the crosswalk when I went over the top...

GTA: San Andreas. I had just discovered the crop duster out in the country south of the second city (San Fierro?). This was before the story actually took you there, so in my curiousity, I started flying towards the city. I get over the ocean, close to the city, and start hearing a high-pitched sound. I have just enough time to ask my girlfriend if she heard it too before I realized what it was...

...it was the lock-on warning from getting too close to the aircraft carrier.

Two seconds later the plane is on fire and I'm falling (luckily into the bay) with 4 stars and cops everywhere.

HALO 2
I was Facing off 3 vs. 2, me being on the two with the worst player in our platoon (so it would be even as I am a god:gundge:) On Burial Mounds my one teammate was being pummeled by a guy chasing him with a shotgun. I instantly popped behind the guy as I knew exactly where they were on the map. It turns out it was a bit of a trap. They ignored my teammate (who I told to double back to me) and continued to run away from me with my shotgun. I took only two shots before I realized this trap from the sniper:sniper: round shot at my chest. I switched weapons, jumped, turned, and fired into the head of sniper across the map with my sniper rifle (through the crashed ship area). Switched weapons, fired my shotgun and got a double kill and ran through another waiting shotgunner with a three hundred style jump (jump then lunge) with the sword I picked up from the guy I just gunned down. Triple Kill!! Then:eek: game exits. It turns out by completely inverting their little trap and destroying their whole team, I drove them to yank their lan cable from their X-box and break 2 out of 3 controllers from being thrown against the wall. That means 2 controllers being thrown and 1 guy yanking the cable in ANGER! I went into their room to ask WTF? Only to find them with their head in their hands. Then they started screaming at me (and half-way laughing) and all I could do was fall on the floor laughing. That was probably the best and funniest moment I ever had in gaming.

did the same for Unreal Tournament. one of the Capture the Flag scenarios had the flag beyond a short pipe. the ONLY way in btw. and the area infront of the pipe was a nice kill zone. So armed with a sniper rifle, I secured the flag, popping heads off of any enemy who tried to make a flag run.

I also had a teleport disk on the ledge opposite the pipe. so by alternating between the two spots, no one knew where I was. I could pop them coming or going. :p

i used to pause the game and just listen to the radio (especially the talk radio, WCTR equivalent) while doing other stuff it was that good :D

i hope IV will still be funny, but from the screenshots i've seen it looks like they've tried to make it all serious and 'moody' :(
