NS is losing an awful lot of nations.

Angels World
22-07-2007, 03:34
Back in December, NS had almost ninety-nine thousand nations. Now there's only about eighty thousand. Wonder what's happening?

Could it be because NS hasn't been updated in a while, or because people get busy during the summer and simply don't have the time to keep up their nation/nations any more.

I know this problem is causing regions to suffer as well. It has to be. Our region alone has lost four nations recently.

Back in early December of '06, NS had about ninety-nine nations, and now there are only about eighty thousand. Is it because their haven't been any NS updates in a while, or because a lot of people have simply gotten to busy to keep up with their nations?

I know this problem has got to be having a negative effect on regions as fewer nations can mean less recruits for new, struggling, and old regions alike. It also means more nation deaths.

Any thoughts?

I've been on here for a while, and NS hasn't had any major updates since I joined, the most major updates it has had have been within the UN, and I don't like the UN, so I stay away. The second most notable update has been the regional power update. I'd say the majority of those nations were puppet nations that people got tired of, I'd say it's partially seasonal as well.

God no.

Seriously, nations at war, why? Why not just play any of the other millions of games out there, or for that matter Risk. Why must a nation simulator be primarily focused on war?

With something like this that is driven by interaction it'd be far more interesting to bolster things like the UN and trade and things like that. Seriously, if war is all you want there are thousands of much better options out there for you that making it here would be a waste of time.

And how well your economy is doing determines how well your military is. If you have a 'frightening' economy, then you'll get the best damn military in the world! If your economy imploded on itself, then it's rock and sticks for you.

It's kind of silly. But people dig it. I'd just hate for it to become a mechanic of the game, because then it would be a focus. There was already a painful number of people when I was a smaller nation TGing me at random with "WAR!" Why? Our nations don't even know each other. Why is your idea of nation simulation picking people at random to go to war with?

It's kind of silly. But people dig it.Well, there's a lot more to roleplay on NS than just war, but yes, that's what a lot of people focus on. And it can be very silly, especially when the war has no purpose other than itself. Using a war to tell a different, more interesting story, is one thing, but sadly, many wars are just battles to see who's e-wang is bigger. Pages of statistics and troop formations bores me.

I'd just hate for it to become a mechanic of the game, because then it would be a focus. That's part of what I didn't like about CN. If you didn't opt in for war, you were penalized. But if you did, you could be randomly attacked for absolutely no reason. That's why I quit, actually. Some git utterly crushed me one day while I was asleep. Woke up and found myself nuked.

Crappy under-implemented Mod bots at Jolt, or some combination with the above. (Timewarping being when a poster is put on the "white list" and let through with only logging.)
