Place your bets

Larry Flynt has said that he has solid leads on 30 DC politicos wrapped up in the same web that has caught Senator David Vitter (R-Diapers), including another Senator (http://politicalwire.com/archives/2007/07/18/flynt_ready_to_implicate_another_senator.html) whose presence on the list, he said, shocked him. Now this is Larry Flynt here, a truly despicable man even if he beat Jerry Falwell in a 1st Amendment case, so for him to be shocked is a big deal.

So who do you think it is? Here's a list (http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm) of Senators in case you need it.

I have a number I'd like to see on the list, but the sick, sick part of my soul hopes it's Liddy Dole. ;)

I'm guessing either Ted Stevens or Russ Feingold.

Eh. I'm skeptical - especially that he can name *30* politicians that anyone would care about.

But what the hell, I'll take a guess. ;)

Maybe Chuck Schumer, or Orrin Hatch, why not? :p

I can think of some more likely characters, but it wouldn't be shocking.

Feingold and Specter are also good guesses, I think. :)

It's the shocking part that's tough, especially if Flynt is shocked by it.

Here's another possibility--Larry Craig of Idaho, who is, according to some media accounts, a closet case. Maybe Flynt didn't know that and turned up a rent-boy.

I'm going to say Hillary Clinton.

What?

Well hell she isn't getting it from Bill, we know that much.

Had to be done.

If it is her, I'm totally sending her a campaign contribution. :p

*Cough* I do believe the usual term, in Washington, is "confirmed bachelor." :p Edit: Ah, forgot that ol' Larry was married. Ouch.

But yeah, that's the tough part. Unless he's bluffing, it would have to be someone with some influence and name recognition.

My first reaction, but I think that if this were the case he'd have called his campaign off by now.

I like Orrin Hatch or Trent Lott for this. Ted Stevens would be utterly twisted and hilarious.

Tea leaves don't lie - besides, I'd suspect a good 60% of senators are crapping themselves right now yet hoping they're not the one.

Reminds me of the jury-switching scene at the end of The Untouchables.

That might be the safest bet anyone's made so far.

Bob Dole, maybe? Is he still there?

As for Larry being 'shocked' - naw, doubt it. Just saying that to desperately generate a bit of revenue for his failing girly mag empire - all those mags have had their hey-day and are in serious decline. Why waste money, and suffer the embarrassment of being caught, buying a mag when you have the internet?

Why Feingold?

I'll guess either Ted Kennedy or Mitch McConell.

I was looking for a polar opposite to Stevens...Feingold fits that criteria quite nicely. :p

Whoring is an expected behavior for politicians. It's really silly to be scandalized by that fact, and I doubt many people would be, but man could it kill your run for president. :p

I'm offended...a Kennedy has never had to pay for sex.

My guess is Kerry, McConell, Clinton or McCain.

Nah, Bob's not there anymore. ;)

I'm assuming Flynt is talking about a current one - if he meant "recent," the potential list could get long in a hurry. :p
