Supposedly they'll make something wrong or off about the advertisement to catch your eye. Unfortunately doing so warrants a double check, followed by utter repulsion from the product.

I liked a particular NetCologne advertisement. When there was a corruption scandal in Cologne, they advertised showing a stereotypical politician with his black suitcase. Next to it was the text: "Less money to foreign nations" It meant that NetCologne lowered their prices for international calls.

Fake and old, but still makes me laugh.
