UK 'Big Brother' bullying tactics

Obviously BB is a crap programme so I don't watch it unless I have to (like I'm with a mate and they stick it on telly or something), but there were complaints about bullying recently and earlier there were complaints that BB didn't do enough to stop bullying.

But I've just been thinking - why would thy? The producers are blatant bullies themselves. Just look at the horrible things they've done to some housemates (for example, an incident involving a guy who's name I can't remember where he was made to run around the living room for a ridiculous amount of time. He was then told that his completing the task meant he could have a free dinner - it would consist of all this stuff like steak etc and sounded like a carnivore's or omnivore's dream. Then when he went to claim it, it was produced in the form of a glass with the ingredients all pureed together into a horrible goo. You could see how gutted he was, but BB didn't give a toss.

BB have bullied people in many other ways, so if you think they're likely to crack down on such behaviour, think again, as the producers instigate bullying.

Nuff said.

Just ignore it. Anyone imbecilic enough to go onto such a 'reality' program deserves everything they get.

big brother house mates sign a contract saying there going to be bullied and such, its just that when the house mates do it the Sun goes ape shit

like I'm with a mate and they stick it on telly or something

I fully convinced this is how big brother gets all the viewers (though I do confess its oddly comforting to fall asleep to just because its people...sleeping)

Nah. Nobody deserves to be bullied. Even greedy people.

The Big Brother house is a human zoo. Those shallow fools actively competed for the chance to put on their dunce caps and clown noses, so why bother about them?

If they agree to it with the knowledge that going through it might result in cash rewards i'd say they deserve it

I seriously doubt it states in the contract 'I know and accept that the producers of 'Big Brother' will treat me like a piece of shit'

When they sign up with full for knowledge and a chance to avoid it sure as hell they do

It was their free will to be in that situation when they could have reasonably done something completely different without harm to them selfs.

Why not? (with more appropriate wording)

Heh well then let me take that doubt away from you. I work for a TV production company that produces reality TV. Not Endamol who produce BB, but I have seem the type of contract that these contestans sign.

They know what they are getting into, they are interviewed many times, they are seen by psychiatrist also. All this needs to be done to leagaly protect TV compaines.

They agree to all of this for their shot at fame. Some people really will do anything to get on TV.

Its edited, convoluted, faked crap, without the excessive exploitative nudity that would make it watchable, at least with the sound off.

Most people who've been on it have seen it before.
You'd have to be a complete moron NOT to know what you're in for.

Why would ANYBODY go on a reality show and expect to be treated like a human?
I mean, nine out of ten reality shows basically consist of repeated rounds of the 'degrade yourself for money/food/whatever' game, with the remainder being sappy 'lets all get along' love-fests. And both of them are scripted anyway.

Why should they? The morons that sign up for the show do so to show the public reality; much as I loathe reality television, it would lose any merits it might have if it became a genre in which everybody had to be terribly nice to each other.

Quite. The whole "you can't broadcast this, it's racist" stuff is absolute crap. It takes the soul out the program - if the only reason people watch it is to be shocked, then having any controversial content censored means that it's going to die a death, rapidly.

I'm just supprised that it has lasted so long, and that people still watch it. Well actualy I'm not that suppriesd, more disapointed.

I don't get how anybody would get enjoyment from watching a bunch of arses being nasty to each other?
