Need Help Finding a Good Nation Simulator?

I have been looking for a good online nation simulator, based in fairly modern times, which can allow me to build a nation to my own designs and to do everything from waging war to carrying out purges on political enemies, though not Cyber Nations.

If anyone can help me I will be most grateful.

Hey, some of us go to II also. :p

But, I'm afraid I can't help you...I've been looking for something similar with little success.

Well, those who go to II are not true generalites.

I believe it's against the rules of the forum to link or support alternative games. I'm not sure.

In general, the best nation simulator is your own imagination.

I think it's just against the rules to actually advertise them. Besides, it's not really an alternative, it's really a different game entirely he's looking for. NationStates doesn't really provide stuff like that.

I, to be honest, tried CN. I hated it. Too hard and concrete. The one thing I like about NS is the flexibility and ambiguities of it. Sure, it allows for some little prick of a nation to declare te warz on j00, but it makes for really interesting nations. CN, though, is nothing but "I n00k j00 with my level n1n3 missilz!!!!11one!"

A friend and I were planning on making a more tangible, but just as customizable form of NationStates. He decided to work on his webservers and rom site instead.

Cyber Nations: about five weeks of waiting to finally have enough resources to participate, followed by giving after two hours of sheer boredom and frustration

I was going to suggest the Civilization series of games, but it doesn't look like I'm in the ballpark. :p Great stuff, though. :)
