Which Band Do You Think Is Superior?

Two of the biggest bands of the 2000's are the White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age. Both are different then most other bands out today, have their own signature sound and style, rely on the guitar mostly, and are critically acclaimed. Who do you think is better?

I love both bands, and it took me awhile to make a decision. I had to look at all aspects of the two bands before I finally decided.

I think Queens of the Stone Age is the better band. There's just something about them that I love. They have made four consistently awesome albums since 2000, and one very cool one before that. The White Stripes are very talented, but they lack the consistency and uniqueness of QOTSA.

So, what are your thoughts?

Music, it's all just background noise.

Haven't Queens of the Stone Age had like one hit? How does that make them one of the biggest bands of the 2000s?

Josh Homme= wife stealing egotist.

Stripes are far better as a band, and reflect something more than Jack White's ego.

The best band of the 21st century have been Muse, anyway. I am not the greatest fan of Muse, as opposed to Taking Back Sunday, however, even a cursory interest in them suggests that, as a band, they can, and have, done everything.

queens of the stoneage: have they done anything since their first single? I liked it, but they were hardly a major musical force

white stripes: not all that good.

I disagree with Muse being the best band around, When the lead singer gets beaten up by fans after a show, that couldn't be a good sign for running of "best band in the 21st century". But to the OP white stripes are the better band, definitly. While both bands are good, white stripes tends to do a little bit more experimenting in a way, and don't get pigeon holed into a nice little niche nearly so easily as Queens of the Stoneage

What's next?

WHo keeps a greener lawn, Joe Schmuckatelli, or Bob Whodafuck?

Someone has to matter before they can be better than someone else who doesn't matter. :p

I've never heard of Queens of the Stone Age and I don't think White Stripes is all that good, but then, my favorite musician described his music as "Punk for Pussies".

Oh come on, you know Joe Schmuckatelli does a MUCH better job on his lawn. I mean, come on. Look at all that crab grass in Bob's. And all those dandelions!

I have to agree with Posi on this one. Though, to take it even farther the White Stripes would mop the floor with the Queens.

Meh. Both are, at best, dull. I haven't seen anything I particularly loved in the 21st Century, yet. Mostly it's been uninteresting.

Loud, exciting... that's all I can really think of to describe them since it's been about 2 years since I saw rthem and there was a lot of smoke (various kinds) floating around...

White Stripes
Spoon
Modest Mouse
Queens of the Stone Age
Franz Ferdinand

in that order.

Although the Red Hot Chili Peppers are probably the biggest band of the 2000s, despite all of their dreadful suckiness.

The Best bands of this decade are none of the above, without the right balance of prescription medications.

The title probably goes to Sum41. If Green Day can put out another CD as good as American Idiot it's theirs. I'd also say Fall Out Boy is right up there.

If Linkin Park's latest CD didn't sound like they'd been assimilated by Producers it would be their title. Minutes to Midnight was a big, mellow let down from what I want to listen to when I plug into Linkin Park. Time to beat them and starve them into producing some edgy music again.

Whatever happened to your ears? Fall Out Boy? They're wank; not only do they musically fail even to be poor (they're just forgettable), but their bassist is a tit.

If Adam Lazarra was not already the coolest musician of the 21st century, he'd win the prize for decking Pete Wentz.

Well I was counting bands that may have started in the late 90s but have done most of their known/relevant stuff in the 2000s. I'm sure some bands were coming up from the 80s earlier in the thread.
