It's a start, at least. Thoughts?

Too bad it's guaranteed to be vetoed.

We're going to have to wait until Bush is gone to see any change in Iraq policy.

Sad...but true.

Unfortunately, Bush'll try to murder more americans. You'd think 3,000 would be enough, but...

Well, if you're a poll-conscious member of the House, you'd be wise to vote for withdrawal, regardless whether it's the right thing to do. From what I've seen reported, there should be more votes supportive of the Iraqi effort in the Senate, especially recent interviews with Sen. Graham, who has spent a good deal of time over there.

Meh. The Senate will fillibuster. The Republicans would rather have American troops dying in someone else's civil war than have to acknowledge that the President's Quixotic quest in the Middle East was incorrect. Clearly they learned nothing from Vietnam.

Everyone loves the Vietnam comparison, but I'm not seeing it, aside from be belief by some that there's no way to win. ;) Hopefully there will be a lively debate, with input from people with real experience.
