Well this is a possible step in the right direction. At least it appears to be. So what are the thoughts on the outcome of this type of delegation visiting Israel?

Arab League to visit Israel

... with DEATH?!?!

Sorry, but when I read the title, that sentence finisher just popped into my head.

Anyway. Sounds promising, I suppose.

Totally - mine was 'with Joint Forces'.

I'm sure the one thing that will appease extremists is certainly the League's growing ties with Israel.

Honestly though - isn't the very name 'League' simply pure evil?

The League of...' just about anything I can think of has borne no good will to this small planet of ours starting with the League of Dactarians that placed mankind down here oh so many millenia ago.

Right, well, we can all find exceptions can't we?

Clever clogs.

I don't know what Dactarians are, I'm making it up as I go along, much like the Mid-East peace process.

Quoted from article - Frustrated Palestinians shouted at the delegation: "We don't want Fatah or Hamas, we just want to get out of here."

I think that generally sums it all up.

'with the wrath of Allah" is another one but yours is snappier, in fairness.

If Israel plays it's cards right, this could be a very good thing for it.

A great number of Arabs are seeing Iran as much more of a threat to them than Israel could ever be. The whole Shia-Sunni split has been exacerbated by events in Iraq, and by Hezbollah's actions in Lebanon (both he unilateral war with Israel last year and it's support for militants in the Lebanese camps against the recognized Lebanese government). Plus, many of the less radical Arab states are looking for some way to put a leash on the extremists, which they are worried will try and impose their views on those states.

If Saudi and Syria were to put real brakes on the flow of money to Hamas and Al-Aqsa, and Israel were to throw it's support behind the Abbas government wholeheartedly, most of the problems in both the West Bank and Gaza could be solved in a year.

The big question though is, will they? Or is Hamas Israel's equivalent of Pakistan's radicals, in that they are too useful as a deflector of attention when the leadership screws up domestically?

If Israel plays it's cards right...

They should lead with Hearts, and if that fails it's back to Clubs as usual.

..and if it started dismantling the settlements....The Al Aqsa Martyrs brigade is part of Fatah, btw.

How about 'with new Harry Potter book'?

I think if they already had the book, we'd have another Children's Crusade on our hands - this time....with parents!

Well if Israel can actually ratify their treaties and withdraw those West Bank settlements that are illegal under said treaties, as well as Hamas recognize Israel, then that's a start. Yet I don't think either side is willing to do those things.

Hate to break this to ya but if the treaties were not ratified by Israel, then Israel does not have to follow said treaties. However, they are obligated to do so, if I recall correctly, by UN Security Council Resolutions.

Well when's silly things like the will of the international community done anything to motivate Israel or the Palestinian militants?

At some point, all Arab countries should realize that Israel, like it or not, is here to stay, even if they do see it as the bitchy little neighbor. After being clouded by failed ideaologies for so long, the Arab world, and also the Persians, too, need to learn to deal with their region as it is, not as they think it should be. Already, Dubai quietly does business with Israel, despite not officially recognizing it.

never just like when most nations do not care what the UN thinks they should be doing.

I think thatr Arabs are just to stubborn and proud to give up though.
