Remember NationDates...?
I found a bunch of complaints we got when we aired our April Fool's joke for 2005. Most droll: http://siroccothemod.blogspot.com/2007/07/nationdates-feedback.html

I think any remaining member who sent one of those messages should come forward in this thread so we can try and guess which was their message.

Should a moderator really be sharing email correspondence?
Despite the obvious humour and the removal of names it still seems like a breach of netiquette to me.

If we're going down that route then should a mod really be setting the example of advertising new post in his blog using a thread in general?
It's just a bit of fun.
Or are you a bit embarrassed having your mail shown? *narrows eyes in suspicion*
Ok Ok, I admit... I had nothing to do with any of these.

Good stuff.
I have a huge problem. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH NADTION DATES? It makes it look like this is some sissy love test sight. Then the blurb- Even some nation leaders just want to MAKE OUT? Excuse me? I'm 12 years old. Plus it makes my nation look weak and pathetic. Either you repeal this monstrosity soon, or I will quit using this sight.
Good thing you changed it back, would have hate to seen you sued for causing a kid to go blind.

February....April.....all the same, who cares the actual date, that's irrelevant.
The point is to look back on it and see how absolutely ridiculous some people can be when it comes time to a joke. Hell, I can tell you that I rather enjoyed NationDates as one of the best jokes the NS staffing came up with. It was ingenious....and comical as my NationDate ended up being my cousin!
Good times, good times.
And reading some of those messages.....goodness, you can tell people were really angry! :D *starts to think I'm a sadistic bitch*

Judging from the posts listed in Sirocco's blog, it looks like most of them didn't realize it was a joke. Kind of like the "War of the Worlds" scare back in the 1930s.

I thought it was hilarious. I can't imagine how anyone could think it was serious -- especially given that it lasted, what, 24 hours? Are people really on NS (or so prone to coming unhinged) so much that 24 hours in joke mode sets them off to such an absurd degree? Yes. Yes they are.

Your hand will:
-Never say no
-Never roll over in bed and say 'I have a headache'
-Never ask for money
-Never want to 'go on a date'
-Never drag you to her parent's house where her father threatens you with a shotgun when no one else is around.
-Never cheat on you
-Never break up with you

Sore arms.
-Never ask for money
Change machines.
-Never want to 'go on a date'
Auditory hallucinations.
-Never drag you to her parent's house where her father threatens you with a shotgun when no one else is around.
Schizophrenia.
-Never cheat on you
Circle jerk.
-Never break up with you

The relevance would be the fact that if he was posting blog responses he was NOT posting email correspondences like you originally charged.
If in fact they are blog responses are they not publically posted anyways? so he is just reposting something the original user knew would be public.

They aren't blog responses - they are Getting Help messages, rather than emails, as I first assumed, but I still find it odd that it is considered suitable to publish such messages.
