Urban legend or not, residents in Cagayan de Oro City are now edgy over rumors of a cult that murders girls and lops off their breasts.

Sun Star Cagayan De Oro reported Sunday that residents and officials in the city have asked police to verify reports of the cult allegedly operating in the area.

Text messages detailing the supposed cult’s activities had been spreading through text messages since last June. The messages said the cult takes the victims’ breasts as a “token."

All the messages contained warnings to young girls and all women not to go out on her own at night as “it is no longer safe."

I say go out and party at night. What do you think?

I've passed through Cagayan a few times. It's a nice town, a real tourist spot. One the one hand, it's a great place to be a serial killer since there's so many people passing through to the ferry, but on the other hand, it's a vibrant area where you'd be seen easily. I'm guessing it's an urban myth.
