Call to power

The Igbo people of south-eastern Nigeria have more reason than ever to seek independence, the leader of the region's 1960s separatist group says.
On the 40th anniversary of the start of the Biafran war, in which more than 1m died, Emeka Ojukwu told the BBC that Igbos were still marginalised.
He also said that 14m people in the region had been denied the right to vote in April's elections.

So what do you think Nigeria's reaction to this will be? whats the longest you went without food? have you thought abut emailing that nice Nigerian businessman about his views on the matter? are you a proud Igbo?
...Didn't something like this end incredibly horrible last time?
Who else had to think for a second before they realized this thread WASN'T about the Dead Kennedys?

"Nigeria? Never heard of them? Have they got any singles out?"
and yes, this did end horribly the last time with tens of thousands of civilians starving to death. This is not a good place to revisit.:(

Biafra's existence as a country was short, and marked by being a shithole. I'm not sure it'll do any better if given another chance.

Yes, with around 1 million deaths, mostly due to starvation.
Personally, though, I doubt that the part(s) of Nigeria formerly known as Biafra will try to secede again.

Ordinarily I support secession, but only when the seceding region can actually support itself. If Biafra can't support itself, a lack of suffrage isn't a sufficient reason to secede.
(And most of you are silly. ;))

Alright, that does it. I'm sick and tired of all of you guys beating me to the punch. I work almost forty hours a week, so I deserve at least a small grace period!
