Mine too-a true hero. And I'm saddened he had to lose his life in the process. I think its safe to assume he was the type of guy that often helped his fellow man.
He carried people out and made sure no one else was trapped or overcome.

China are sure to honour him with a posthumous award. Quite rightly, too. Legend.

Been a couple of really dispirting stories about the place today. Nice to have a little faith in humanity restored :D. In the end, I guess humanity is a good or evil as we decide to act.

It'll be incredibly tradegic if he was the only person to die in the fire. It'd mean the last time he went in, he went in for no reason. :(

Yeah-thats a tough one to consider. Unfortunately, from this article,I think he was the only one killed when he was overcome with smoke. Probably surging on adrenaline.
Bitter-sweet that he wont be there to be honored, that the people he saved from death or terrible injury cant thank him in person.
Hopefully, his family will rec some honor.
Not that it could make up for the loss of someone that was likely already a hero to his family.

Well, the patrons went to the movies to watch a hero in action, and they did.

RIP, Deng Hengqi. Your death was truly a honorable one.

It was his job.If I recall correctly, it is not even a firefighter's job to rescue people from a burning building if it puts their own life above a certain degree of risk. In the UK that is.

Does China have an equivalent of the Presidential Medal of Freedom?

If so, this guy deserves it. Without question. He is a hero in every sense of the word.
