Dinner guest in Belgium finds bodies in deep freeze

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/07/05/europe/EU-GEN-Belgium-Bodies.php

The female guest opened the freezer while helping to clear up after a dinner with a group of friends Tuesday at the man's home in the city of Verviers, 125 kilometers (78 miles) east of Brussels, said Christine Wilwerth of the city prosecutor's office.

"It was a lady who at the end of the meal at a friend's house, and after washing the dishes ... decided to take the leftovers of the meal down to the basement to store in the deep freeze," Wilwerth said. "Once she opened the deep freeze, she discovered the bodies."

----

Quite a find, and now the question:

If you had found two corpses in your host's freezer after a dinner party, and at once saw that pieces were missing, apparently freshly cut off, what, upon realizing at least a few of the evening's dishes had contained meat, would be your reaction?

No one told me it was cannibal night!

Anyway thats pretty damn sick and I'd actually probably vomit there and then.

Obviously, I'd taste a bit off one of the bodies to see whether I recognized the flavor from the meal. It is always better to know these things.

What is this delightful dinner Dr. Lecter?

If I told you, you wouldn't even try it.

I'd wonder what that "meat" was that was served...

I'd be shocked, and run for my life.

Finding that out is oen of those moments when you hope with all your hopes that the host isn't behind you holding a knife saying "oh dear, how quite unfortunate for you"

I'd ask the host how they managed to fit a body in the freezer and make some lewd remark about eating a woman

The article did not imply or state that there was anything missing from the corpses. It did say that the guests called the police and kept their host there.

I think he was extrapolating from the article to turn it into a less one-sided discussion.

Belgium gets away with a lot of this stuff because no one bothers to know anything about them.

They're the 'quiet, friendly neighbour' of Europe.

That a euphamism for "pushover"? :p

Now, hang on people...let's not judge. For all we know the corpses might have been stuck into that person's freezer to frame him. Remember: innocent until proven guilty. It's not just a saying: it's a way of life.

I wouldn't mind knowing if the bodies were with any other meat. It would be a shame to ruin quality beef by throwing in lousy human with it.
