Fiat 500 Abarth

http://www.infomotori.co.uk/a_17_EN_18953_1.html

A very smart car. Also quite nippy for street racing....

Hopefully we will see more of these smaller cars (not all as extreme as the Abarth). This is the future of cars in the city.

I was going to say: 'Actually, that is a piece of shit'.

But it (the colors, anyway) bears a resemblance to Carnage from Spider-man and that makes it cool.

Sadly it will cost more than 10000 euro. Very unlike the old 500, it won't be a people's car.:(

Et tu, Fiat? In principle it's a good thing for manufacturers to remember that they have a heritage and they didn't always make borring ass cars, and going back to their 'classic' designs was a good study for a few of them, but it's okay to move forward, too. Dammit.

You can touch back without wallowing in the past. The Porsche Boxster is supposed to be the spiritual offspring of the 550 Spyder (though it shares more touchstones with the 914-6, but that's a dirty family secret) but manages to be its own car.

Having said that, the new Abarth looks like the old Abarth with safety bumpers, which for a retro I guess is the best you can hope for. And I like tiny cars, and if you're a fan of tiny cars the Fiat 500 is up there on the list. Despite my gripes I like the car. It'd be cool if the price was the same in adjusted dollars...well, Euros, Fiat doesn't sell in the US so dollars won't enter into it, as the original.

Aw, I thought this was going to be about pasta. :(

The car looks pretty neat to me, though I know there's no way on Earth I'd fit into it. Kinda ruins it for me. :p

I've never understood why people buy brand new cars... you might as well fuel your boiler with banknotes.

And then you have to pay hefty amounts in insurance on it, especially if you live in a city.

That colour scheme really wasn't doing it any favours though.

I sometimes dream about buying an old Fiat 500L, making it into a one-seater (otherwise I'll never fit in it), and changing its original motor with a better, less fuel-sucking one. Wow.
I'd paint it blue, or three-tones green and a red shark's mouth at the front. And bright brass exausts, of course.

It's so bad that I actually thought it was done to mask the features of the car.

Back when I was in the market for a vehicle (as an 18 year old girl totalled my S-10 Blazer, when she crossed the yellow line and hit me head on), I couldn't get a used vehicle loan (although I could get a new vehicle loan), so I had no choice. On the other hand, I love my baby (Dark Charcoal Metallic 2003 Chevy Silverado 4x4 RCSB).

I heard great things about the Panda 100hp, so maybe it'll be a good car, who knows?

I'm still in awe of my own new car. I've come to the conclusion that the road isn't the place to drive it hard...I'm scared shitless. So I'll have to take it to the track.

Also, has anyone ever tried to build a kit car? I'd love to have a go at one, but I can't afford a Caterham. Any cheaper ideas?

Actually, that happens a lot. They won't loan you the money unless they can make a certain amount of money off it. If you have bad credit it's easier to get a short term loan because they'll give you a horrendous interest rate, and claim it's because of your credit rating.

So it's an over-priced small car with no power and mediocre gas mileage. I'd rather have a larger but more powerful and equally as efficient Honda, thankyouverymuch. Not to mention the difference in price tags. Or the ease of finding parts for repair.
