BBC reporter Alan Johnston has said it is "just unimaginably good to be free" after 114 days in captivity in Gaza.
He said his ordeal felt like being "buried alive", and was "sometimes quite terrifying".
Mr Johnston, 45, was handed over to the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza City. Britain said the group had played a key role in his release.
The reporter said he had not been tortured by the Army of Islam group which seized him on 12 March.

Good news. His family, coworkers, and friends must be quite relieved after that long of a delay.

You know, after what news reporters put you through, I think some of them almost deserve being taken into captivity. Although I cant speak for the British, most American newscasters are quite boring... Personally I'd rather watch the fake news with John Stewart. Quite a bit more entertaining.

But it is good that he has been released, don't get me wrong.

Oh yeah, I heard that twunt on the World Service today blabbing about his captivity.

He reminds me of that Terry Waite idiot.

Thank God he was released unharmed. If there's one kind of journalist that doesn't deserve to be kidnapped, it's a BBC journalist.

If Hamas can catch a paparazzi, that might be a different story.

If the grabbers catch a paparazzi, they'll throw him back. They're after journalists.

Seriously, though, you know it was Hamas that got this guy free? They squashed another group in order to release him.

Oh no.

On point and exact.

At least they didn't saw his head off with a butchers knife though. So I suppose this is a step forward for islam.

I dont know very much about Waite but he seems either like he is a well-intentioned person who gets in the way or a publicity seeking eejit. I dont see how he is comparable to Alan Johnson who was a well-respected journalist working in very difficult circumstances.

The guy never even made the news here, to my knowledge. At least the newspapers. But it's great that he was freed - hope to see more of the same.

How do you compare an egotistical fuckwit like Waite and a professional journalist doing his job?

Its never happened in the OT, as all factions condemn that kind of thing. Secondly, that grouping are a clan of smugglers involved in a feud. They are neither radical, nor Islamic, despite what claims they may have made publically. Its been quite well documented.

Too true, I mean if it was a Bushevik Faux reporter you'd have to believe in karma.
