The Black Forrest

She did a wonders for the art world and was a master fund raiser.

I once heard her tell a story where she was a function with a CEO of a very large company who was known not to care about the arts. She approached him for a million an opera production

He joked and said "Do I have to attend?" She replied "I would like you there." He then said here is a deal. I will give you a million if I don't attend and 900000 if I do.

She said she would take the 900K. One night he and his wife appeared for a production of La Bohème.

A couple weeks later she was at a function of his where they had a dinner with trinkets on all plates but hers. She looked at him and said "Where's mine?" He said "Look under the damn plate" There was a check for $100000. As she said a new lover of the arts was created that night.

I saw a 60 Minutes piece on her a while back. It was clear that she had talent for much more than just singing. I"m sure she did wonders for the arts.

Phenomenal voice, stalwart supporter of all of the arts, nice person and a lot of fun to be around. She was a great American artist, and will be sorely missed.

She was a great opera singer, and a wonderful personality. She was truly an asset to the American art scene.

She was a brilliant woman. I raise my water bottle to her in respect.
