How is your day going today? Mine is fairly uneventful so far. I get to go to work later. (Oh goody.) I will be eating brownies later.

How about all of you?

Do you mean the day I had yesterday, or the new one that started about half an hour ago?

Yesterday was tiring, as I was painting my new house. Today shall begin shortly with bed, followed by more painting.

Busy.

I slept 4 hours, worked 10 crazily busy hours, did some crap for uni, and my head is still buzzing because it keeps thinking I forgot something. And I volunteered to go into the office again tomorrow because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment.

And I should be going to bed. Meh.

Let's see. I met Gary Roberts today (the hockey player.) I then put a hole in his Dining Room table. (He didn't body check me, but I could tell he wanted to.)

Then, also at work, I got a phone call from a collection agency, regarding something that should have been dealth with months ago - when I declared bankruptcy. Seriously, rat-bastard mother-fuckin' collection agency shitwads - go to Hell!

Now I'm going to go see some Transforming robots destroy shit.

Wow, awesome. How'd you meet him, was he moving?

He had actually moved a couple of weeks before, and we were doing some set-up for him. Here's my rant on Facebook;

Let me preface this by saying that I was not on the main move. I showed up today after my enjoyable long weekend to the sudden panic of 'Mike, we need you to go out on an unpack with Norm Mackie at Gary Roberts' house!' What the hell? Big Time NHL player, some time away from the warehouse and moving furniture with the head of the HHG division. Why Not?

When we showed up to his house in Uxbridge (which is absolutely gorgeous by the way, one of the nicest I've seen, and I've seen some nice ones) we were greeted by the former Leaf his own self. I figured he'd be bigger in real life. I always expect hockey players to be friggin' huge for some reason.

Anyway, he's basically a pretty cool guy... with the exception that he's really, really fussy. He was pretty laid back at first, just wanted us to move the furniture that was in his garage inside the house, while his family unpacked all the boxes in the basement. Apparently, when one of our crews delivered his stuff a couple of weeks ago, his hardwood floors weren't set yet. Well, they're set now, and damn those are nice floors.

Gary Roberts didn't think so. While we were moving stuff in and out of the house, his 'floor guy' showed up, where he reamed the guy about his poor work, about whether or not he even knew how to handle this type of flooring. (The wife was trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with the flooring.) Meanwhile, we're moving stuff in and out, some of it pretty damn heavy. Gary didn't want us dragging any dust or dirt inside, (no carpets though...) so he wanted us to remove all the pads off the furniture... okay, no problem, although we put those there so that we don't mark up the furniture or floors. It's okay, we can get a Swiffer. When we brought in the King Mattress, it was still in its plastic bag, and the completely new kid carrying it with me dragged it along the floors in a couple of spots, and left 'dust trails' which Mr. Roberts didn't like (Again, this can be swept.)

Here's the kicker though; on the way up there, Norm Mackie was relaying how the dining room table would be a little tricky to set up. Apparently, when they delivered the furniture to him a few years ago in Florida, 'someone' used a drill to put it together, and drilled a hole right through the table! So, 'just use screwdrivers this time guys' he said. He was originally going to help me put the table together, since apparently he had seen it before. Instead, he left me with the new kid. Still, I figured it wouldn't be a problem.

Nobody bothered telling me the screws were just a little too big for the table. So while I was lining it up, and screwing it in from underneath, the screw popped right through the top of the table. I'm talking zero-effort here. I had no idea. Just enough to poke through.

So, once I saw it, I figured 'fuck. Just my luck'. So I told the new kid to let Norm know what had happened. So, the new kid went straight to Gary Roberts. (Which isn't a bad thing, but it's better to let the 'lead guy', in this case the owner of the company, deal with these things.) Mr. Roberts was not impressed, to say the least. The wife tried her best to calm him down, but I was getting ready to receive a body-check. This dude wasn't happy.

Okay, Gary Roberts. Seriously, I'm sorry. But if this has happened before WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU SPEND $2 ON SHORTER SCREWS? Apparently, the last time around, they shipped the fucking table back to Canada to the manufacturer to repair it, and the whole thing cost about $1000. (Of Mackie's money, not Gary's.) So, needless to say, I felt like a bag of shit. The wife told me not to worry about it, but if I had known that the problem was with the length of the screws, I would have been a little more careful. (Or hinted that maybe they should get shorter screws.)

Should I be surprised that Gary Roberts didn't come back to shake my hand at the end of the day? Certainly no tip, and certainly no autograph. I was hoping for at least a 'Thanks for fucking up my table, Gary Roberts'. Ah, well.

Here's the funniest part; when I got back to Mackie's yard, and spoke to my partner in the warehouse about it, he laughed and said that Norm Mackie was the one who drilled the hole in it last time. In fact, he was assembling it upside down, and drilled multiple holes - right into the floor! They discovered what had happened after they tried to pick it up and it wouldn't move. :-)

Welcome to the Moving Biz!

If he'd body checked you, you'd have fallen on the floor, possibly leaving a scuff. ;)

Bleh. Went to the dentist yesterday for an infection around the root. Got antibiotics and Tylenol 3 and a referral to a specialist. Woke up this morning and the pain was even worse. I only got 6 of the painkillers and now have 2 left. I am currently taking 2 Tylenol 3's plus 800 mg of Motrin. It isn't doing shit for the pain. Called the dentist back up and what do they say? "We will not give you anymore as you were only prescribed enough to help with the pain until you get in to see the specialist." Fucking morons don't really realize I guess that it takes a while to even be seen..

And also..had to take my son in to the dentist today because his molar was broke. He would not let them touch him so nothing was done. ugh..

Not so fabulous. I spent the whole of yesterday hanging out with the guy I like, which was a blast, except it left me more confused than ever, because even though it was totally amazing, and we connected so well, he still didn't make a move, and didn't really appear to reciprocate well when I tried to make a move. So today, I was feeling all disappointed and rejected, and wasted the whole day on MSN, staring at his name, willing him to talk to me. When I finally bit the bullet and talked to him first, he didn't respond for like twenty minutes, and then basically said nothing but "lol" and "hahahha" for a few minutes, then randomly signed off and/or blocked me. Not even a goodbye, like usual! I then put on some music, but it basically destroyed my soul, and I started crying. So I locked myself in my bedroom, and read all of Carol's lines in "Orpheus Descending", because I see her situation really relating to mine. Yesterday, I was eating dinner with his family and laughing at him when he spilt water all over himself, and today I'm just some stupid desperate girl who he can't be bothered to talk to. I made a mistake by saying something to him on MSN. I broke the rules. Now I have to repent.
And, I came to a frightening revelation: I won't be in any shows for over a year, at the very least. That hasn't happened since seventh grade. I'm going to invest in Tennessee Williams plays and a lot of booze to tide me over. The more screwed up I can get myself, the more credibility I'll have as an actor, I figure. That, and I'm going to listen to a lot of Belle and Sebastian. They know where I'm coming from!

I had a rotten day a few days back and I knew the innanet was only going to make it worse, so I took my RAM out and took it over to a friends place with instructions not to give it back for a day.

It didn't actually work (found some more RAM in an old computer) but it kept me offline for a few hours, and I got some practical stuff done which made me feel a bit better.

I feel like writing poetry. That's a very bad sign ... perhaps I should just check into the psych unit while I've still got the sense to do it voluntarily.

Perhaps you could try something like that?

Hmmm...it's possible. Although I know where he lives and random shit like that, so I could probably find other ways of tracking him down if I was failing that much at playing it cool. Besides, I need the internet to discuss musicals and watch episodes of Criminal Minds. What I really need is somebody to lobotomize me with a rusty rail-way spike and/or flog me with a fiery whip any time I even think about him. I also considered blocking him, but I can't bring myself to do it, even though I know I should. I need this guy to miss me so much, he's in pain. That way, I can get my power back.
Maybe I should hire some guy to pretend to be my boyfriend...

 You know if he should happen to read that, he'll be absolutely terrified?

Maybe I should hire some guy to pretend to be my boyfriend...

I'd like to help, but I'm more the "palely loitering" type, and well out of practice as well.

Sounds like a job for an older brother to me! Like good cop/bad cop. You make it plain that your restraining influence is the only thing standing between him and your psycho "older brother." ;)

You bet. And it just keeps getting more confusing. I'm trying to play it really cool today to off-shoot me playing it way too hot the past week, but I'm apparently very bad at it. I keep meaning to set my MSN status to "Appear Offline" and just spend the day reading on the porch, but I can't bring myself to do it. I keep getting dragged back to the computer, wondering if playing it cool is just as dumb an idea as anything.
Nah, it doesn't seem like too bad of an idea. Just seem interested when he suggests something.

Or you could show up at his house naked. It'll work faster, but you'd probably feel like an object afterwards.

My day went pretty well overall. In honor of Independence Day, we had no classes (I'm at a summer program at UCSD). We then went to a baseball game (Padres v. Marlins) which was fun.

As we drove back, we saw fireworks go off. Suddenly, I had a flashback to almost a year ago, when I was in northern Israel when Hizbollah began firing rockets at Israeli cities. The sound of the fireworks going off was almost exactly like that of the rockets exploding in the distance.

As I continued watching, I saw the clouds being lit up by the fireworks. This brought back another flashback from the same time - seeing clouds to the north light up, probably from Hizbollah rockets or Israeli airstrikes.

I couldn't watch anymore. I looked downwards, and plugged my ears.

Well I've had a crap start to today. I just failed my driving test! Manoveures were perfect, driving overall was good but what failed me? A group of cyclists which made me have to do a load of sterring and braking to avoid them. They just cut me up on a roundabout! What could I do? This was like 5 minutes before the end of the test too.

pretty bad. Fell down the stairs last night and bashed my elbow in the process. I also have a massive bruise on my ass.

And I have a 10 page paper I need to do.

yes, but that had surprisingly little to do with it. I was wearing leather sandals that got wet, and the stairs (which are normally slippery) were also wet.

I got up at 4.30 PM to go to work, I'm just home (It's 2.30 AM now), it was quite boring, but not that bad and I guess it's one of the best holiday jobs one can have. Yesterday they confirmed what I was suspecting, I didn't pass my exams, so I'll have to redo some. My relationship is probably running to an end, not that we were together that long, but it still sucks. Because I have to get up to early tomorrow I won't have the chance to go out tonight. And I'm very tired.
So yeah, things could probably be better, but I have mostly myself to blame.

My day is going quite fine, and yesterday I met Gravlen! We went out with his friends carousing in Baltimore City and I think everybody had fun except the designated driver. We compared the prices of alcohol and Big Macs in America and Norway, we admired the glowing-heart hermaphrodite statue in front of the train station, some of us ate sushi (and wasabi) for the first time, we decried the disgusting huge greasy portions at Frank's Diner, we oohed and aahed the city from 13 floors up, we got annoyed about sitting right next to the DJ booth, we did a bit of walking and picture-taking and getting tipsy and getting hit on by gay people, and it was a lovely night all around! Pictures to come on Saturday, with permission by Gravlen.

Today should be great too. I am about to do a little shopping, go to tea with a friend, play tennis, and go to dinner. And my headache went away as soon as I had breakfast. What could be better than that?

kinda shitty. but ok. managed to talk with bosses about lack of management and feeling totally lost... going to review management structure in the business. so that's good but it was all stressy. got the artworking for a magazine done and dropped off at the printers. stressy. feeling kinda down but the sun's come out and might get to go home soon (not sure why that's a good thing apart from its not the office)

My day has just started and I'm probably not going to be doing anything, except driving my brother to his piano lessons, so it'll probably be good. Yesterday was pretty normal, except that my group got an A on our Historical Tourism Project. So, that means I don't need that I don't have to worry too much about the final anymore.

Eh I've been better. Today I had a test (which I studied for) and I know I failed, I mean I've failed worse than Chernobyl did. What really sucks was that I really tried, I took all the notes, I asked questions, I did the homework, I sought help from the teacher, I did the lab work, I did everything short of a brain transplant and yet, I somehow manage to fail this math test. What sucks is that her review sheet looked nothing like the test, the wording were completely different and she just threw several curve balls.

I suck at math :(

What's worse is that if I don't pass this class, then I won't go to Grad School, which means I'm going to have one hell of a time trying to find a job.

The weather is good, but slated to get much hotter and more humid over the next five days.

Typical Washington DC weather. Only a touch cooler out in Herndon where I live.

Herndon Weather ('http://www.weather.com/weather/local/20170?lswe=20170&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&from=whatwhere')

Work is slow and steady. I'm looking forward to making some bbq pork ribs and hanging out at the pool this weekend.

Falling on my butt is worse. Some parts of summer assignments I don't mind doing. Like I read the Aeneid (in English) for my Latin summer assignment, and that was fun. Other parts of summer assignments are kind of boring, but usually they're fine.
