I'd like to be a member of the Doom Patrol because they accept weirdos. And I'd have endless time counting the number of times continuity is screwed around with. And their headquarters is full of fun stuff to count.

When the team learns that they are, essentially, serving as garbagemen, Ben Grimm's response is, "No disrespect to the, uh, Great Lakes Avengers or whatever, but don't they usually handle stuff like this?"

The most prominent thing I remember about the Great Lakes Avengers is when they started out, Mr. Immortal placed an ad for 'costumed adventurers' in a local paper and someone called Leather Boy showed up, having misunderstood what it meant... it was an unpleasent affair.
That, and Squirrel Girl's undiscussed power to defeat any foe as long as they are much, much more powerful than her.
