I love ESPN and then there are times I downright hate it. Its become a mecca for sports coverage and a cesspool for those overly critical, cocky "sports analysts". I really tired of some analysts but other I can tolerate and enjoy. Some are just horrible journalists, sportswriters, analysts, reporters, correspondents, personalities etc. Here's a list of some sports analysts I just can't stand and others I like. Here's the question "are ESPN analyst a dime a dozen?"

Like
1. Chris Berman
2. Kenny Manye
3. Michael Smith
4. Sal Paolantonio
5. Chris Mortensen
6. Dick Vitale
7. Mike Golic

Hate
1. Tom Jackson
2. Stephen A. Smith
3. Tony Kornheiser

I watch TSN as you have to pay for ESPN in the Great White North. TSN is also Canadian so it covers even the most insignificant of hockey headlines.

Its all about PTI. Which means Kornheiser should be on the good list. Along with Wilbon. And Berman is the best.

Sports has boomed and as it continues to expand into the foreseeable future, you will find fewer and fewer people who are good sports analysts. I find most of the analysts at ESPN marginal at best.

Of course the last SportsCenter I liked was hosted by Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann <shrug>.

Plus ca change, plus ce le meme chose.

I can't stand Jay Moronotti, Woody Paige, Skip Clueless, Chris Berman, John "one nut" Kruk, or most of the "analysts" hired by ESPN. The non-jocks hired by ESPN are fools who couldn't make it in a real journalism job. The jocks hired prove everything that Howard Cossell said about the "jockocracy" of the American sports media.

I do like Pete Gammons though. He sure as hell knows baseball and isn't a pompous self promoting ass.

PTI is the only good show on ESPN. It has two people who actually understand sports and aren't just trying to become part of the story.

My biggest complaing about the Eastern Seabord Propaganda Network is that they seem to think that the world revolves around New York and Boston. I can't watch BBTN because it is nothing but a bunch of grown men spending 15 minutes jerking off to the names of Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and Manny Ramirez.
