These forums aren't for people from the US only

Also, what if someone is none of those?

"Independent" basically covers everything not of the two parties in colloquial usage.

Not all of us are from the United States. I myself am a proud member of the SoHuist party. Incidentally, I also its only member. Inventing your own party is harder than I would have guessed.

For Federal elections I generally vote Libertarian and in state elections I vote Green. Occasionally I'll vote for one of the major parties (Democrats lately) if it's a close race.

Hi, new and first post.

Coincidentally, I have also created my own party, the Moderate Party. Yeah, pretty self-explanatory. But it's not some lame single-issue third party that will never get into office, it's actually a major party. That's right, MAJOR PARTY (no togas required).

We represent the opinion of the majority of the public, THE MIDDLE. And since it's in the middle, if you are dissatisfied with an "end party" leader *COUGH*bush*COUGH*, instead of going to the other side of the spectrum (Midterm Elections '06), just go to the middle, where people can re-establish their position before deciding to move back to a liberal or conservative leadership.

And, since we will represent roughly 1/3 of the legislature, none of that ridiculous radical BS can get through from either side since it has to be reasonable enough to sway the middle.

Oh, and also we don't have an animal as a mascot (BTW, those were originally invented as insults, research Thomas Nast), we have a STAR. It's more patriotic and easier to clean up after.

What spectrum - a spectrum consisting of either right-wing or extreme right-wing parties? To have a 'middle', you'd first need to have a political left.

O... K..., well, just trying to be objective here. Yes, the conservatives control the White House, the Supreme Court, and still have some influence in Congress, there ARE liberals out there. They are the majority party in both houses of Congress, after all. Whether they can stop bickering and do some thing with that power remains to be seen. I can see why you made that totally biased statemant, but I don't agree.

BTW, did you know over 90% of monetary political contributions from the media go to the Democratic party? Fox News and talk radio being the largest exceptions, of course.

His party is only moderately extremely right wing, if that makes any sense. THe midpoint between the two.

In most of the rest of the first world the Democrats would be a center right party and the Republicans would be quite far to the right. That's what he was talking about.

Thanks. While I do believe this would be good for our country, it can't happen without the real worldwide motivator, money. And who knows, once we get that down, we may get someone into city council by 2032!

Seriously, though. This could work. If only I had some large viewing audience to spread the word and a means to do so, like say, for example, a massively multiplayer game on the internet? =P

Thought I'd clarify in case there was someone here who'd only seen 25 letters of the alphabet in lower case.

But seriously, what I mean to say is that I'm not in the party, I don't really want to join, and my views aren't exactly identical to the platform anyway.

What, they just sort of skipped over L? Or did lower-case L invade their homeland and they're refusing to recognize it as a REAL letter? You know, it's not like they have a place of their own after Q tried to destroy them and kick them out of the alphabet soup cans. Q was jealous that L was one of the given letters on the Final Puzzle in Wheel of Fortune. He ganged up with X and Z and tried to invade R, S, and T, but once E joined the battle they all got whupped. When E found L he was so messed up he looked like a 7. Z's been glowing ever since.

So please, all of you that are discriminatory to lower-case L, have some sympathy.
