Watched the premier of Transformers today,... (yeah, my region is F1RST!!!one!11!,... thought I don't know what marketing scheme they're running with this)
So okay, they made a movie out of something I grew up with. Yeah, I'm one of those target demographic audience that is now ripe for further plucking,... thank you Hasbro.
Anyways,... I thought I had grown more mature,... but seeing that everytime I hear that "transform" sound effect I smiled,... I guess that I'm more attached to the Transformers than I know.
So, what I want to know is,... do you have any attachment to something in your past that made you look "geeky" or "silly" now?
...p.s. : Barricade's police logo and it's motto "To Punish and to Enslave", is the bomb!

Is Soundwave (http://www.tvcrazy.net/tvclassics/wallpaper/cartoons/transformers/soundwave.jpg)in the movie?
Because if he's not, I'm not going to see it.

He's not, but he's supposed to be in the sequel if this movie does as well as Bay hopes it will.

No, they decided they couldn't do him right without the mass shifting, which they opted against.

Well, the makers might as well spit in my face and burn my house down, because Transformers without Soundwave is the equivalent to having Escape from LA without Kurt Russell.
Needless to say, I won't be seeing the film.

Soundwave is going to be in a sequel. In an article on IGN:
Don Murphy was the most forthcoming with information, describing the structure of the film as a disaster movie where five separate storylines converge at the end of the movie into one epic battle. The street scene we witnessed was integral to the final confrontation. He also stated that the "transforming sound" is likely to make it into the film, and that although the timing does not yet call for it, they are definitely looking into getting Frank Welker to voice Megatron. At Comic-Con 2006, the studio announced that the fan favorite and original actor who did Optimus Prime will be voicing the Autobot leader in the film. Murphy went on to say that Soundwave is being saved for a possible sequel, and he will play a large role in the proceedings.
And if no-one goes to see the first movie, there is no sequel, and so no Soundwave for anyone. So you will watch the movie if you know what's good for you!

That's a very good rumor... the ones I really like to hear.
Oh yeah, in descending order, I think these are the coolest Decepticons:
3. Megatron
2. Starscream
1. Soundwave
... I can't think of any other Decepticons with character in the old shows.

Personally, I think the first three coolest Decepticons are:
1. Megatron
2. Devastator (The Constructicons)
3. Shockwave and Soundwave (Tied)

I think the paranoid and depressed stunticons sound like the coolest characters ever.
I got sucked into Wikipedia just now, I probably read for about 20 minutes.
Best 'cons were definitely:
1) Megatron,
2) Shockwave (especially the comic version)
3) Soundwave
4) Galvatron (the comic version, especially the UK comic, was brilliant!)
5) Starscream
From the designs I've seen for this film, the 'cons got royally screwed over so I'm glad Soundwave isn't in it for just that reason. Megatron and Starscream look like ass  :(
It´s a black day for mankind.

So, is the movie any good?prowl is my sec fav Autobot, think how I feel that they use Prowl's form as a decepitcon.
I wonder if they'll just keep soundwave small as a solution to the mass shifting problem.

Well, there was Rumble. He had character in a stereotypical-brash-punk kind of way.
I've never liked Transformers...they always seemed rather...childish.
One look at the movie trailer, however, and I decided I would watch the movie just to see if it was vaguely interesting beyond the action. If it's not, then it's two thumbs down from me.

The only properties that was a huge hit was I was a kid that failed to make the silver screen, like TMNT, and *gag* Power Rangers, Transformers we're out for near a decade before I was born (I block the debackle of Inspector gadget from my mind), Sonic the hedgehog (I shudder to think what a piece of crap of a movie that'd be) I'd like to see a CGI movie of ren & stimpy:p

Yes. I like it very much,... and if it's not because of the old shows it's because of :

fast paced actions, Michael Bay car chases (add cars and truck transforming to robots and beat the crap out of each other), gun fights (ranging from small arms to cannons and missiles), close range destruction, a simple plot to keep you comfortable but not too "durrrrrrr" stupid, all and all a very fun and watchable summer movie (okay maybe except for people on the Tropic of Capricorn), even if you have no idea who Optimus Prime is.
I'd like to see a CGI movie of ren & stimpy:p
And you, sir, are a disgustingly cool person.

I'm going to be seeing within the first week of release.
I'm hopeful for this movie, but it has the potential to suck royally.
Meh'
Angry Black Guy: "Bring it!"
Comedic Black Guy: "I'm having trouble concentrating with teh killer robot!"
I'd prepare myself for a well done movie, but a lot of many things I've already seen.

Meh, I just saw Rise of the Silver Surfer and earlier this year I saw Ghost Rider...there's no use in pretending I have standards at this point, so yeah, I'll see it.
Incidently-lowest point in Silver Surfer, when that flying cart is revealed that the Fantastic Four fly around in, it has a Dodge grill and even says DODGE on it. But wait! That's not it, it's when Johnny turns to Reed and says, "Nice. Hemi?" to which Reed replies, "Of course." And a little part of me that had been holding on so desperately to life finally died.
On the subject of Transformers, does Chevy really thing that people are going to buy a bunch of Chevys because they're all over the movie?
Okay, they probably will sell a few because of it, but that really shouldn't be the case...(goddamit, Bumblebee is a Bug...[/pointless grumble])

For most fans, this is a major disappointment :
Theme Song.
You'll know what I mean if you had already watched the movie,... or scouring youtube for it.
