What's your favorite soft drink?

So NSG, what's your favorite soft drink/soda?

Right now I think it's Cream Soda, because drinking a Cream Soda is kind of like finding ten dollars in the wash... but better.

What kind? There's red Cream Soda and there's clear Cream Soda. And for a while anyway, you could get a kind of light golden-brown Cream Soda.

I've tried that from the specialty store - they have lots of imports. Asian sodas are pretty good, I think. Calpis is good - I've tried a few flavors, and I also like the Zest-O line of fruit sodas from the Philippines. :)

I like pretty much any boylan's (http://www.boylanbottling.com/) , and the best root beer in the world is either made by Virgil's (http://www.virgils.com/index.html) or Henry Weinhard's (http://store.drsoda.com/henryweinhards.html) people. The best orange soda is made by either the afformentioned Boyland's company or by Sprechers (http://www.sprecherbrewery.com/index.php) I don't like most mainstream stuff, and I'm not really a big fan of Jones' soda either.

Haha, I was at my friend's house once and he goes, "Do you want some coke?"

Mind you he knows I hate all forms of alcohol.

I go, "Sure." And take a sip. It tasted like shit, and since coke doesn't normally taste so bad unless it comes from a can, (I only drink bottled coke) I looked at him and saw him with this sly little smirk. Asshole.

I spit it out in his sink and was gonna start yelling at him (In a friendly way mind you. I wasn't actually mad or anything) but his little sister was in the room playing Nintendo, and I don't think his parents would be happy to know he was downing some booze.

After a while his sister leaves and I go, "Son of a bitch, that tasted like shit!"

All kinds. It seems to me that the color doesn't really dictate the flavor (well, excepting red), though. A&W's new Vanilla Cream Soda is basically clear, if I remember right, but I've had Vanilla-Creams that were yellowy or even brownish.

As for what I prefer aesthetically, I like a golden brown. Not as important as taste, but the color is pleasing. :)

Rock & Rye tastes like the popular liquor, 'rock and rye' to me, which is traditionally used on teething children in my family. So Faygo Rock & Rye has a sort of nostalgic taste, to me. :p

As to where I buy it, BevMo usually has it. They're a national chain, kinda like Binny's back east. There's a few specialty stores I go to - one's an Arab market which has Arab and British imports, and another is a farm store that has local stuff and a few imports. :)

I like it clear, myself - probably because that was the only type I'd encountered 'til I moved to another province (Ontario) where it seems that Cream Soda is, well - red. I only see the clear stuff when I occasionally go back to Montreal. I'm not a big fan of the red.

Red, to me, is a sort of symbol of uncertainty. There's a whole slew of red colas that are advertized as being red cream, but are really not. Then you've got Red Pop and all its offspring, which are sort of halfway there, but more like an orange Crush. There's some good red cream sodas, but it's not a certain proposition when trying a new one. :p

Yes and no. Fanta was produced by the German arm of the Coca-cola company during and just before the Second World War because they weren't able to import the ingredients for Coca-Cola, for fairly obvious reasons. Fanta is, however, a completely different drink... and was a personal favourite of Hitlers... go figure.
